Acai Berry Gelato is the smoothie bowl of the Gelato family: superfood name, dessert-shop flavor. Two versions share the scoop, so here’s the breakdown by origin.

Origin 1: Sherbinskis. The original Acai Berry Gelato strain is Sherbinskis’ #49 phenotype from the famous Gelato cross of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Cookies, which puts Pink Panties and Girl Scout Cookies further back in the family tree. The breeder propagated this one as a sativa-dominant daytime smoke: a clear-headed, easygoing high that keeps your feet on the ground while your mood floats, with tropical sweetness up front. Sherbinskis likens it to an afternoon run to the froyo shop, and lists limonene, myrcene, caryophyllene, linalool, and pinene, with orange, hops, cinnamon, lavender, and pine on the nose. Plants can finish in deep purple under a heavy coat of frost.

Origin 2: Seed bank Acai Gelato. Several seed banks sell feminized Acai Gelato seeds with mixed paperwork. Some list Pink Panties x Sunset Sherbet as the parents, one calls it 90% sativa, and at least one review site labels its Acai Gelato indica-dominant. Treat those packs as their own selections, not guaranteed copies of the Sherbinskis cut.

The acai bowl crowd gets a rare win: this one actually tastes like the menu board promised. Creamy mixed berries carry the inhale, sweet citrus brightens the middle, and the exhale turns a little sour and tropical before an earthy base pulls it back to the ground. Under the frost, some buds flash deep purple, like a scoop of something you shouldn’t order before noon but will anyway.

The high follows the sativa script. Fans report a happy, chatty lift with enough focus to keep the to-do list moving, and none of the couch gravity that heavier Gelato cuts are known for. Most jars sit in the low 20s for THC, with a few loud drops clearing 30%. Toppings optional. Afternoon cleared. Brain freeze not included.

Acai Berry Gelato seeds from Sherbinskis come feminized only. Seed bank versions sold as Acai Gelato are feminized too, but their genetics vary by source. Growers report a taller, slimmer frame than most indica-leaning Gelato cuts, so expect stretch and plan on pruning, topping, and support for heavy branches.

Flowering is typically listed at about eight to nine weeks indoors, and growers report solid yields of dense, lime-green to deep purple buds coated in resin. Cooler nights late in flower can push the purple. Keep airflow strong as colas fill out, and give it a slow dry and cure to protect the berry-cream terps. Rush the cure and you’re left with plain vanilla.
