If you love dabbing on the go, plenty of mini devices, rigs, and electronic vaporizers make the job easier. One such device: the Dr. Dabber XS™ Nano.
Below, read our Dr. Dabber XS Nano review.
What is the Dr. Dabber XS Nano?
Founded in 2013, Dr. Dabber is an electronic vaporizer company whose signature devices include the tabletop Dr. Dabber Switch and the smaller Dr. Dabber Boost Evo. The most recent piece from the brand, the Dr. Dabber XS Nano is the smallest, most portable e-rig the company has ever made.
This mini rig is designed for consumers who want a quick dab without carrying around a bulky unit.
Design
The device comes in a black colorway and stands at 6.47 inches with a diameter of 1.82 inches. It weighs 9.4 ounces and retails for $159.95.

The XS Nano has three main parts: the base, quartz chamber, and glass attachment. The body is made of a proprietary polymer, while the quartz chamber is built with a stainless steel casing.
And recently, Dr. Dabber collaborated with Wiz Khalifa's Khalifa Kush brand for a limited-edition spin on this mini dab rig that costs $249.95.
Features
The XS Nano's features include:
- Spill-proof glassware: The bubbler keeps the water locked in place, so you don't have to worry about a wet tabletop or, even worse, a wet device.
- Dab tool: The dab tool that comes with the device makes it easy to cold-load your concentrates and get to dabbing while in motion.
- Carb cap leash: The carb cap leash keeps your cap in place, so you don't have to worry about sitting its stickiness on your table — or any other surface, for that matter.
- Patented heating technology: Dr. Dabber's patented heating technology comes with four preset temperatures that reach temp within 9 - 12 seconds.
- Quartz heating dish: Quartz heats and cools fast. It can handle temperature variability without oxidizing or becoming brittle over time.
- 1-year warranty: Dr. Dabber offers a 1-year warranty on all batteries, chargers, and electrical components. Unfortunately, this warranty does not cover glass, atomizers, nails, and induction cups.
In addition to these standard features, the Dr. Dabber x Khalifa Kush XS Nano comes equipped with a thermochromic base and carrying bag that changes colors from yellow to brown as it heats and cools. Plus, it looks pretty dope in the sunlight.
Dr. Dabber XS Nano temperature and battery life
This device heats super fast. It only takes 12 seconds to heat to its highest temperature of 625°F — most other e-rigs take 15 - 30 seconds to heat — and the temperature remains consistent throughout the session.
Temperature range:
- Purple: 475°F
- Blue: 525°F
- Cyan: 575°F
- Green: 625°F
Battery-wise, you can get about 20 - 30 sessions on a full battery. It takes an hour to charge from a completely dead battery to full and comes with a USB-C pass through charging cable.
How to use Dr. Dabber XS Nano
The Dr. Dabber XS Nano is pretty simple to use:
Step 1: Screw the e-chamber into rig base
Do this slowly to avoid messing up the threads of your chamber or base.
Step 2: Add water to glass attachment
Use the silicone funnel that comes with your XS Nano to fill the glassware from the inside/down stem.
Step 3: Attach glass attachment to e-rig
Before heating the device, place your concentrates on the bottom heating plate — this is called “cold start dabbing,” it helps preserve the terpenes that could be lost if you start your dab at too high of a temperature.
You'll also get smoother hits by inhaling as the dab heats, which is excellent news for your throat.
Step 4: Tether carb cap to the top of the glass attachment
Secure the grooves of your carb cap leash to the top of your glass attachment.
Step 5: Load e-chamber with concentrates
Load dabs to your e-chamber before heating. Aim for dabs the size of 1 - 2 grains of rice. A little goes a long way with cannabis concentrates.
Step 6: Turn on device
Click the power button five times to turn on your device. Clicking the button one time tells you which temperature setting it's on.
Step 7: Choose temperature and heat the device
Once you choose your favored temperature, hold the XS Nano's power button for three seconds to begin heating. The button will flash red while heating, then turn green once it's ready. Clicking the power button once during heating will stop the process.
Step 8: Hit vapor and enjoy dabs
When the button is green, hit your dabs.
Low and slow is the name of the game, as hitting the bubbler too hard may splash water into your mouth or roast your concentrates.
Step 9: Clean XS Nano
After each use, use a cotton swab to remove leftover oil. It's imperative to preserve your device.
Is the Dr. Dabber XS Nano worth it?
The Dr. Dabber XS Nano definitely rips — though I wish I got more dabs out of it. I tried it with Green Lantern live rosin from Panacea, and it zapped my lil' 2 grains of rice-sized dose of oil within 2 - 4 dabs. Many other devices let you puff and puff until you finally have to stop since the oil won't.
But with those puffs, you get good vapor clouds out of it, so that's a win. But the flavor is lacking. The super-fast heating burns off the terpenes a bit, and in my experience, the best setting for flavor ended up being the “Purple” setting at 475°F and “Blue” at 525°F.
Editor note: To get the best flavor, try placing a small dab inside the device, heating it up, and hitting it once, then cleaning out the bowl before adding another fresh dab.
All in all, the XS Nano from Dr. Dabber is a suitable device. It heats well, looks cool, and produces big clouds of vapor. Often, many of these devices give you the same result, and choosing between them comes down to consumer preference.
The Dr. Dabber XS Nano delivers if you prefer a small hand-held device that makes dabbing easy when you're out and about.
