Uw Purple
UW Purple is an old-school Pacific Northwest indica with deep roots in the Seattle cannabis scene. Also known simply as UW or U-Dub, the strain has circulated for decades with a hazy family tree. One widely repeated lineage pairs Purple Urkle with Williams Wonder, but the history of the original UW cut isn't documented cleanly enough to treat that cross as settled fact.
What isn't hazy is the flower's reputation. UW Purple is known for dense, sticky buds that can flash shades of violet and deep purple between the green. The nose leans floral and herbal, with lavender and sage up front before earth, spice, and touches of tropical fruit or berry work their way through. The flavor follows the same old-school lane, floral and earthy rather than candy-coated.
The loyal following describes UW Purple as heavy, mellow, and increasingly sleepy, with an uplifted mood riding over a pronounced body calm. This is classic Northwest night weed, built more for slowing the room down than turning the volume up.
UW Purple comes from an era when prized cuts moved between growers faster than their paperwork did. That murky history is part of the package. The genetics may still be debated, but the purple flower, floral-herbal funk, and heavyweight reputation have kept U-Dub hanging around long after plenty of better-documented strains disappeared.
