Kosher Kush

Kosher Kush earned its reputation before anybody could cleanly explain its family tree. The strain surfaced in Los Angeles as a clone-only cut, later reaching a much wider audience through DNA Genetics, but its exact parentage remains undisclosed. What has held steady is the unmistakable OG Kush influence: loud fuel, pine, earth, lemon, and a thick Kush funk that puts it comfortably in the same Southern California conversation as SFV OG and Tahoe OG without proving a direct genetic connection to either.

The name carries one of cannabis culture’s stranger bits of lore. Kosher Kush is often described as the first commercial strain to receive a rabbinical blessing, a story that helped turn an already memorable LA cut into something people actually remembered by name.

The trophies back up the reputation. Kosher Kush took first place Indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup in both 2010 and 2011, helping lock it into the same era of celebrated West Coast heavyweights as LA Confidential and other indica-forward California staples.
