LA Confidential has a name for discretion and a smell that leaks everything. DNA Genetics crossed OG LA Affie with Afghani, creating an indica rooted in Southern California and Afghan genetics. Cannabis Cup placements in 2004 and 2005 helped take the secret public.
Pine, damp earth, and skunk give it a distinctly old-school profile. Sweet hash and peppery spice linger underneath, with a woody finish that keeps the sweetness restrained. There’s plenty of depth here without a fruit basket attached.
The consensus among knowledgeable consumers centers on euphoria, substantial body relaxation, and a high that can become deeply sleepy. Some describe an initially heady, almost dreamy quality before the physical effects take over. LA Confidential tends to make staying in feel like the evening’s best-kept plan.
LA Confidential generally grows short and bushy, developing compact flowers with substantial resin coverage. Dark green foliage and occasional purple coloration complement its dense bud structure. DNA’s original notes describe two main phenotypes finishing in roughly 55–60 days, placing flowering near the eight-week mark.
It can be cultivated indoors or outdoors, with the original outdoor harvest window listed as September–October in the Northern Hemisphere. Its compact habit suits limited vertical space, though crowded foliage and tightly packed flowers still call for airflow. Differences between selections can affect vigor and final size.
