Haole
Haole sends Hawaiian sunshine straight into LA darkness, crossing Maui Wowie with LA Confidential. Its name comes from the Hawaiian word haole, commonly used for someone foreign or not native to Hawaii, a nod to Maui Wowie bringing island genetics into a decidedly mainland pairing.
The nose starts deep and earthy, with Kush funk and peppery spice getting interrupted by a streak of tropical sweetness. The smoke keeps that contrast going: pepper, earth, and an almost chemical sharpness ride up front before fruit slips through on the finish. It's less pineapple-on-the-beach than somebody fired up a Kush joint next to the fruit stand.
Fans of hte strain describe Haole as starting happy and euphoric before LA Confidential begins pulling the experience toward heavier relaxation. Maui Wowie keeps some brightness in the mix, while the Kush-heavy side brings the weight, making Haole a tropical cross with considerably more bass than breeze.
Haole inherits a rugged constitution from its landrace heritage, standing up to most environmental stress and pests with ease. That resilience makes it a solid choice for both indoor and outdoor gardens, even for growers without a lot of hands-on experience.
Plants grow short and squat with bushy fan leaves, so expect to prune occasionally to keep airflow and light penetration in check. Haole flowers in nine to ten weeks indoors, with outdoor harvests typically ready by mid-October.
Its pungent kush aroma carries well beyond the grow space, so odor control is worth planning for ahead of time.
