Origin 1: The legacy Frankenstein circulates as an indica-dominant cultivar with unidentified parents, also known as Dr. Frankenstein. Its reputation centers on pronounced physical relaxation, appetite, and a dreamy head change. This is the mysterious member of the family: a familiar name passed around without a complete pedigree attached.
Origin 2: Johnny Potseed describes assembling his Frankenstein from seeds purchased in 1998, working with White Russian, Sour Diesel, Skunk #1, Blueberry, White Rhino, Hawaiian Snow, and G13. His account includes backcrossing toward White Russian and Sour Diesel before adding Maui Wowie. He describes three and a half years of breeding followed by more than two decades of clone preservation. That’s a crowded laboratory, even by this name’s standards.
Origin 3: Crop King Seeds offers a feminized Frankenstein identified as Skunk × Northern Lights. This commercial version takes a simpler route through two established families, emphasizing an indica-dominant profile and an eight-to-ten-week flowering window. It gives seed growers a defined pairing under a name otherwise tangled in clone history.
The familiar legacy profile opens with pungent earth and pine, then lets sweet mango and citrus peek through the skunky background. Compact green buds carry orange pistils and abundant trichomes. That unexpected fruit note gives the old-school funk a little dimension: there’s something sweeter lurking beneath the laboratory floorboards.
