GMO Cookies

GMO Cookies has one of those aromas that makes you wonder whether something died, leaked, or got left in the fridge too long. The famous cut traces back to Mamiko Seeds' Chem Cookies, a cross of Chem D and the Forum cut of GSC. Skunkmasterflex hunted the seeds and found the freakishly funky keeper that became GMO, turning an already loud Chem-and-Cookies pairing into a modern classic.

Garlic gets most of the attention, but GMO's funk runs much deeper. Diesel, skunk, damp earth, pepper, and savory onion pile into a sweet, doughy background that can get downright offensive in the best possible way. Its buds are equally unmistakable, often growing long and chunky rather than perfectly round, with green to purple coloring, orange pistils, and a thick coat of trichomes.

GMO has the horsepower to match the stink. Reviews skew heavily relaxed and euphoric, with an uplifted streak that can keep the opening surprisingly bright. As the high settles in, that early spark can give way to a slower, hazier, sleepier finish.

Despite the nickname Garlic Cookies, don't take “garlic, mushroom, and onion” as a settled explanation for the GMO name. That expansion has become part of the strain's lore, and the savory funk certainly makes it believable, but the name's origin has been told a few different ways over the years.
