Blueberry Purp
aka Purple Berry Kush
Origin 1: Classic Purple Berry/Blueberry Purp
The traditional cut is a Granddaddy Purple x Blueberry cross. Think chunky green buds streaked with deep purples and blues, sometimes even pinks and fiery orange pistils. The smoke brings blueberry sweetness with a nutty undertone, and the effects hit heavy — a strong body stone with just enough mental clarity to keep you upright. This lineage connects back to Ken Estes' Granddaddy Purple (Mendo Purps x Skunk x Afghani) and DJ Short's legendary Blueberry from the late 1970s.
Origin 2: Wonderbrett's Blueberry Purp
Wonderbrett's LA-bred spin is far more complex: Granddaddy Purple x Beyond Blueberry v1 x OZ Kush Cookies & Cream. They first propagated Blueberry OZ Kush (BZK) by crossing Beyond Blueberry with OZ Kush Cookies & Cream and then hit a choice BZK male back into GDP. The result? Dense, trichome-glossed nugs that smell like cookie dough drizzled with ripe blueberries and sweet grapes. The high runs deep and sedative, more "lights out" than "let's chat."
Why the mix-up? Both versions showcase purple-hued flowers and blueberry-heavy terps, which makes it easy for shops to blur them together. One's a straightforward GDP x Blueberry throwback, while the other is a Wonderbrett multi-cross flex — same name, different ride.
If you pick up a jar of Blueberry Purp at your local retailer, you might be grabbing a nostalgic GDP x Blueberry cross, or Wonderbrett's layered LA dessert bomb. Either way, expect serious bag appeal with ripe trichs, and enough berry to stain your memory.
