Black Jack deals from more than one genetic deck. Sweet Seeds, Nirvana, and The NugLab have used the name for different crosses, so the breeder matters as much as the spelling.
Origin 1: Sweet Seeds crossed Black Domina with Jack Herer, creating its balanced, feminized hybrid. Haze-like incense leads the breeder’s description, while grower reports add pine, wood, pepper, and lemon. Some selections develop sweeter floral or bubblegum notes beneath that spicy profile.
Origin 2: Nirvana’s Blackjack is commonly documented as Black Domina × Jock Horror. That different parent makes it a separate breeder version, even when menus use the two spellings interchangeably. Descriptions emphasize earthy flavors, but Sweet Seeds’ exact cannabinoid figures and growing specifications shouldn’t be assigned to this line.
Origin 3: The NugLab paired a Tom Hill Deep Chunk mother with a Jack Herer male selected from Sensi stock. The breeder describes an F1 hybrid combining dark-purple coloring and hashy aromas with sweet, heavily frosted flowers. This version replaces the first two lines’ shared maternal parent entirely.
Appearance follows the selection. Sweet Seeds grower reports describe compact, dense flowers that accumulate frost during bloom. The NugLab places greater emphasis on deep-purple to nearly black coloring inherited from its maternal line. A dark name doesn’t guarantee dark buds in every jar.
People who’ve spent real time with the Sweet Seeds version describe an uplifting, cerebral experience that can feel energetic and engaging before becoming spacey or meditative. Physical relaxation appears in broader consumer accounts, too. The hand can play differently by selection and serving size; “balanced hybrid” doesn’t guarantee an even split between stimulation and sedation.
Sweet Seeds lists approximately nine weeks of indoor flowering, with breeder-estimated yields of 500–600 g/m² indoors and 500–700 g per outdoor plant. Its outdoor harvest window is early October under the conditions described by the breeder. Given ample sunlight and unrestricted root space, outdoor plants can approach three meters.
The NugLab lists approximately eight weeks indoors for its regular-seed F1 release. Its description contrasts the fast-finishing maternal plant with a much longer-flowering paternal family, but those parental schedules should not replace the finished hybrid’s stated window.
Growth varies within the Sweet Seeds line: supplied grower records include both compact and stretched phenotypes. Nirvana’s release requires its own growing specifications. Autoflowering, fast-flowering, and CBD-focused versions should likewise be identified separately.
