Super Silver Haze is an Amsterdam heavyweight from Green House Seed Company, with roots in the legendary breeding work of Neville Schoenmaker and Shantibaba. The strain emerged during the Dutch cannabis boom of the 1990s and quickly became one of the defining Haze hybrids of the era.

Its pedigree is generally given as Skunk, Northern Lights, and Haze, combining three genetic families that helped shape modern cannabis. Super Silver Haze is closely tied to Silver Haze, but the history surrounding the two names, their selections, and the breeders who carried the genetics forward has been told differently over the years. What isn't disputed is Super Silver Haze's place in the old-school Amsterdam canon.

The profile comes in sharp rather than sweet. Peppery spice, earth, and herbs ride alongside citrus and that unmistakable Haze funk, with pine and skunk hanging around the edges. It's the kind of nose that predates the modern rush toward candy, cake, and fruit strains by decades and has no interest in pretending otherwise.

Longtime fans describe a fast, energetic lift with an upbeat, cerebral edge that can keep rolling for hours. Euphoric and creative reports are common, while a softer layer of relaxation underneath keeps the experience from being all throttle. Super Silver Haze earned its reputation as a daytime heavyweight: plenty of Haze electricity without completely abandoning the body.

Then there are the trophies. Super Silver Haze dominated the late-'90s competition circuit, taking major honors at the High Times Cannabis Cup in three consecutive years from 1997 through 1999. That run helped cement SSH as more than another Dutch Haze cross. Decades later, its name still carries weight.

The strain grows tall with long branches, vivid green leaves, and both white and orange stigma hairs in a 70-77 day flowering period. Green House reports an outdoor harvest of mid-October in the Northern Hemisphere, and mid-April in the Southern Hemisphere. It also recommends Screen of Green (ScrOG,) and Low-Stress Training (LST) for indoor grows, and equatorial, tropical, subtropical and temperate climates for outdoor growing.

In addition to the original Super Silver Haze, Green House carries a high-CBD version of the strain — a result of crossing it with a high-CBD plant. Both original and high-CBD versions are available in feminized seed form from the seed company.
