The Notorious B.I.G.'s Son Launches Weed Brand to Honor His Late Father

C.J. Wallace, son of the iconic New York City hip-hop artist The Notorious B.I.G. and singer-songwriter Faith Evans, is honoring his late father's legacy and fondness for taking “tokes of the marijuana smoke” with a new line of cannabis prerolls.

The rapper's son recently launched Think BIG, a cannabis company that is actively striving to reshape society's perception of marijuana. Think BIG has collaborated with Lowell Herb Co., a California-based organic cannabis farm, to release its first cannabis product, The Frank White Creative Blend.

Having his father slain in a fatal shooting in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997, when he was only 5 months old, C.J. Wallace has been on a journey to better understand and carry on the legacy of Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace. After portraying the iconic NYC rapper in his childhood years in the 2009 biopic “Notorious,” Wallace teamed up with co-founders Willie Mack and Todd Russaw to start a cannabis company which built upon the creative relationship that Biggie Smalls had with marijuana.

“Think BIG has been fans of Lowell for years and have a love for their top-shelf flower and their use of organic farmers,” Wallace said in a statement to Weedmaps News. “Before my dad was killed, he was arrested for cannabis possession, and I see how the pointless war on drugs has affected our communities — this is why criminal justice reform is important to me. My mom and dad both used cannabis for their creativity, as I do. It's the goal of Think BIG to shift perception and make a positive impact.”

Geared toward sparking creative endeavors, the pack of prerolls is intended to reduce anxiety and stress while generating a “calm, mildly euphoric, and focused headspace that is perfect for heightened creativity”. The limited-edition product is named after Biggie Smalls' alter-ego Frank White, the name he took from a fictional mafia kingpin played by Christopher Walken in the neo-noir crime film “King of New York.”  

“The crossover between cannabis and creativity is omnipresent as well as the injustices that have occurred in both sectors. The limited-edition blend and Think BIG's new Frank White brand takes its name from the eponymous character in the 1990 film 'King of New York,' one of the many aliases that Christopher 'The Notorious B.I.G.' Wallace used to express himself,” said David Elias, CEO and co-founder of Lowell Herb Co.

The pack consists of seven prerolls filled with a blend of some of Lowell Farms' sun-grown cannabis strains, including Orange Sherbet, Banjo, and Rattlesnake Sour Diesel. Priced at $40, the preroll pack is currently available in California at Rose Collective in Venice, Sweet Flower locations in Studio City and Melrose, and Urban Pharm in San Francisco. A portion of the proceeds will directly benefit California's Prison Arts Project, a program that seeks to provide inmates with lessons in visual arts, writing, poetry, music, and theater.

“This limited edition pack will raise funds to support the Prison Arts Project as part of our shared mission to remove stigmas that pollute the public perception of cannabis, and to promote social justice,” Elias said.
