Green Jar - Wasilla
Wasilla, Alaska1 star
Horrible people, place, management, and owner
Poor response by management regarding the crowd of people at the flower display case, there is no order or anything just a group of people all looking at each other wondering who’s next until someone speaks up. Then when you ask to see the flowers so that you can see what they look like and/or pick one, they hold the jar so far back (just barely took it off the shelf) you can’t see anything and say see. Apparently that is because someone has tried to grab the jar and run out??? As we all know from experience the buds shown in the display are not the same as the ones they might be selling. So now I can’t even pre look at the flower I want? Don’t need to hold the jar but I do need a good look at it. Also, my package was not child proofed or sealed correctly. Called the owner, Caleb, who told me he didn’t have time for trivial things and was only concerned with the fact they may have let unsealed packaging out the door. He instructed me to report the violation to AMCO.

Used to be good
This store used to be one of the best in Anchorage. Don’t complain about things or you will be asked to not return, no matter how regular you are. Flower is good, prices are good. They have gotten better growers and have started releasing their own stuff. Concentrates are over priced compared to other retailers for the same brand, batch, grower, strain and %. Excuse given is the manufacturer must give better prices to other stores... not according to the manufacturer - It’s the individual stores choice to price where they want, everyone gets the same deal. While it’s legal here, local police presence inside for any reason really makes for a less than comfortable experience. Hopefully they don’t try and flag this review off too. Would have been a 5 star review, but responses by management and the owner dropped the rating.

Anchorage, AlaskaThank for your comments. We did see you in our store 4 or 5 times a week and we appreciated your business. Based on your regular visits it’s safe to say that the products and service you received met your expectations. Your comments about APD being in the store are misguided. Alaskabuds is part of a larger community and we watch out for our neighbors, just as they do for us. We observed illegal activity on a neighboring property and reported it to APD and they responded. If the community does not watch out for each other who is going too? I will admit that watching a police officer open the door for a couple of customers was odd but at the same time exciting. These are new times my friend, Cannabis is legal and the community including the Police respect that. I get it, you’re disappointed that you were asked not to return to our store and we are disappointed that we had to ask. We wish you the best in life.

Individualized Service
This is a different type of shop in Anchorage. They try to deliver a personal experience where people do not feel rushed. As a result, you can expect to wait on their comfortable couch and look over the menu for a few mins. A bud tender will then get you and bring you in to look at the products. They will ask you specific questions about your needs and will recommend the correct strain, based upon what will work best for your need or desired effect. Flower is done deli style, but they also have some pre packed 4g bags with smaller buds they call super shake. They give an awesome discount if you come in a few days before or after your birthday! Management is open to any feedback no matter how small, and will promptly deal with any issues.

Goodbye good discounts and prices
Shame on you for getting greedy! Discounts and reasonable prices are apparently a thing of the past. Goodbye Great Northern. You used to be one of the best.

Anchorage, AlaskaHello bullzeye. Thank you for your feedback. Great Northern Cannabis has been aggressive on pricing and has helped to bring pricing down across the city, making cannabis more affordable. As I write this, we have many strains that are on sale for $10-12/g. We also have one of the best customer loyalty programs in the state, offering many types of award redemptions. If you have specific concerns on what has led you to believe that we have become greedy, please speak directly with store management. We take your feedback seriously and want our customers to have a great experience. Thank you for your business and for shopping at Great Northern Cannabis.

Good prices - horrible service
Called to complain about an issue I had with a newer sap cartridge they put out. The tip makes it hard to orientate the button correctly and in addition they are not durabale. I dropped it once and it shattered. I have bought and dropped multiple other cartridges and this is the first and only time I’ve had one break. I spoke to Kyle, the owner and he hung up on me and refused to even listen or try to rectify the situation. I spend $200 a week in this store and to be treated like this is unacceptable

Expired / Mis Representation
I've been to every shop in anchorage. This is by far the worst shop due to shady practices. Keep in mind that I received a 3.5g bottle from Arctic Herbery that was wet and didn't weigh. Their excuse was it dries out after packaging.
My experience at this shop was pleasant at first. When I purchased my products ( some edibles and Afghani kush) I was surprised that the edibles had expired the week before. Additionally, the kush was sold to me as a 22% THC but was really labeled at 15.85%. When I called the store they said it was an accident by the testing facility. The 1 gram was 22% and the 3.5 was labeled at 15.85 but really the same 22 according to Enlightened Alaska. I'll go off the label that is placed on the product. So I left the store with 4 either expired or mislabeled products
