Triangle Kush is a cornerstone of Florida cannabis history, but exactly how it came together depends on whose version of the story you believe. According to grower Origins TK, the strain traces back to an accidental pollination in South Florida involving an Emerald Triangle female and Hindu Kush genetics brought home from Amsterdam.

Origins TK says he obtained the Hindu Kush seeds from Nevil Schoenmakers' seed operation in Amsterdam in 1989. After germinating them in Florida, one plant that had initially been identified as female later produced pollen near the air intake of a grow room packed with Emerald Triangle plants. The accidental pollination left seeds throughout the crop.

According to that account, seeds from the harvest eventually produced two plants that would leave an enormous mark on American cannabis: Triangle Kush and OG Kush. Other longtime Florida growers have offered competing versions of Triangle Kush's early history, so the precise parentage and timeline remain part of the larger debate surrounding the origins of OG genetics.

Triangle Kush carries the profile that made those old Florida cuts legendary. Fuel, earth, pine, and sharp citrus dominate, with woody herbs and chemical funk filling out the background. The flavor stays similarly Kush-heavy, moving between earthy gas, lemon, pine, and spice.
