Hell's OG doesn't exactly advertise a gentle landing. Formerly known as Hell's Angel OG or HA OG, this old-school Southern California cut comes with two competing genetic histories, and the Blackberry question has been following it around for years.
Origin 1: Growers with direct experience working the old HA OG cut describe it as an Orange County OG Kush selection, not a Blackberry cross. Karma Genetics, which used HA OG extensively in breeding projects including Biker Kush, has identified it as straight old-school OG Kush and specifically disputed Blackberry being part of the genetics. In this version of the story, HA OG circulated as a prized clone rather than a conventional seed release.
Origin 2: The other established pedigree crosses OG Kush with Blackberry. The original breeder remains unknown, but this version has circulated widely enough that OG Kush × Blackberry has become the standard published lineage for Hell's OG.
Whichever cut is in the jar, Hell's OG doesn't do subtle. The older HA OG side comes through with sharp lemon, Pine-Sol funk, earth, and straight Kush, while Blackberry-associated versions can pull sweeter with sour citrus, berries, and a candy edge. Dense, sticky buds and a heavy trichome coat keep the presentation appropriately mean-looking.
The original HA OG is generally treated as a clone-only cut, while seed lines such as Biker Kush were later bred around its genetics. Plants show classic OG tendencies, stretching into a somewhat viney structure during flower and benefiting from staking once the dense Kush buds start packing on weight.
Flowering generally lands around eight to nine weeks. Expect dense, resin-heavy buds and an increasingly loud mix of lemon, pine, earth, and Kush funk as harvest approaches. Because different genetics have circulated under the Hell's OG name, growers should expect some variation depending on which version actually made it into the room.
