Durban Funk

aka Durban Dawg #4, Durban Dawg 4

20 to 24 percent THC range

Durban Funk puts some stank in your step. Known through GrowHealthy’s Florida flower lineup, it was previously sold as Durban Dawg #4, a selected expression of Durban Dawg. That line crosses Durban Poison with Stardawg. The Funk name identifies the selection; it doesn’t add another parent to the mix. Its original breeder isn’t firmly established.

Sweet citrus gives the flavor a bright opening, followed by woody pine, herbs, and spicy skunk. The nose gets less polite: earthy, savory pungency with sharp citrus cutting across it. An early smoker found more wood, spice, and herbal sharpness than outright skunk, with musk lingering on the exhale. The funk has range. Some jars lean into the citrus peel; others leave the whole room wondering who brought the skunk.

Flowers are described as olive green, with thin orange pistils and fine crystalline frost. Small, heart-shaped buds appear in strain profiles, while an early small-bud batch was notably sticky. Size alone doesn’t settle the quality question, and this selection doesn’t need borrowed purple-flower claims to dress up its résumé.

Reviewers describe a cerebral lift that made writing more enjoyable and easier to get started, with relatively little body heaviness. Broader effect descriptions favor happiness, creativity, and sociability. That gives Durban Funk a daytime personality: something for kicking around ideas, putting on music, or finally opening the sketchbook. Whether the masterpiece gets finished is still your department. The reported lift is part of its appeal, but “sativa” doesn’t guarantee focus or a jitter-free session.

Durban Funk’s history as Durban Dawg #4 makes the identity of the selected plant especially relevant. Seeds from the same parental cross can produce different expressions; they won’t automatically reproduce the original Funk selection.
