Death Star is what happened when Ohio decided Sour Diesel wasn't dangerous enough. Team Death Star crossed the East Coast fuel legend with Sensi Star in the early 2000s, creating an indica-dominant hybrid that became one of the Midwest's defining underground cuts.
The original Death Star spent years moving primarily as a clone, helping turn it into the kind of strain people hunted rather than simply ordered. Sour Diesel does most of the talking in the jar, blasting out pungent fuel, skunk, and sour citrus before Sensi Star drags the profile deeper into damp earth, wood, and spice. There's sometimes a little sweetness underneath, but nobody is mistaking Death Star for dessert weed.
The buds stay compact and dense, with chunky green buds, fiery pistils, and a heavy trichome coat. Its squat structure might come from the indica side of the family, but the smell has Sour Diesel written all over it. This is old-school weed with absolutely no interest in keeping a low profile.
Longtime fans describe a euphoric opening that gradually gets swallowed by deep physical relaxation, sleepiness, and a decidedly slower pace. Death Star didn't become a Midwest legend by being subtle.

The strain produces short, stout plants with dense buds, taking approximately 65 days to mature after the 12/12 light-cycle switch. It thrives in the Sea of Green (SOG) environment and flourishes when grown in a hydroponic setup.
Available as a clone-only strain, Death Star won second place at the 2014 Denver High Times Cannabis Cup as the People’s Choice Award.
