Cherry Pie has two different genetic packages circulating under the same name, with the original Bay Area clone sitting at the center of both.
Origin 1: The original clone-only Cherry Pie is generally traced to Bay Area breeder Pieguy, who crossed Granddaddy Purple with an F1 Durban line. Jigga cultivated and circulated the selected cut, tying Cherry Pie closely to the early Cookie Family scene in San Francisco. Dense green-and-purple flowers pile on trichomes and rusty orange pistils, while sweet cherry, dark berry, dough, earth, and spice ride over a sharper fuel streak. This is the Cherry Pie that took third place in the Medical Sativa category at the 2014 Denver High Times Cannabis Cup.
Origin 2: Riot Seeds took the original female Cherry Pie clone and crossed it with a WCD 710 male carrying West Coast Dawg and Sugenite OG genetics. The resulting F1 is a separate, sativa-leaning seed line rather than another name for the Pieguy/Jigga clone. Riot's version stays relatively short, can develop deep maroon and purple coloration, and finishes flowering in roughly nine weeks.
