Origin 1: Bomb Seeds crossed Big Bomb with an unnamed fruity mother to create its indica-leaning version, advertised at 17–22% THC. Sweet cherry and summer berries carry the flavor, while a familiar skunky undertone keeps the jar from smelling like the candy aisle. This is the best-documented commercial seed version, with the cherry character selected deliberately rather than inferred from the name.
Origin 2: Mr. Greengenes developed a separate Hawaiian-associated Cherry Bomb through years of selection from stock commonly linked to Maui Wowie. Later preservation accounts emphasize a distinctive metallic cherry note, sometimes accompanied by sweeter fruit expressions. This sativa-leaning line has a deeper, disputed ancestry and no dependable published THC range. The frequently repeated Cherry AK-47 parentage should not be treated as established for the original Greengenes stock.
Origin 3: Barney’s Farm historically offered a Cherry Bomb described as a Northern California indica × Hawaiian sativa. The individual parents were unnamed, and reliable potency figures remain scarce. Archived descriptions emphasize a sharper, bitter aroma, separating it from Bomb Seeds’ sweeter cherry-skunk profile.
Descriptions across the strain span an engaging head high and a calmer physical finish, but the versions do not share one predictable effect. Bomb Seeds emphasizes an initial cerebral lift followed by substantial relaxation, while accounts of the Hawaiian-associated line describe a more head-focused experience. Feedback specific to the old Barney’s release is limited. The name supplies the fireworks; the particular cut determines how much of the evening stays in motion.
Bomb Seeds lists approximately eight to ten weeks of indoor flowering, medium-height plants around 100–120 cm, and potential indoor yields of 600–650 g/m² under favorable conditions. Its heavy flower structure benefits from adequate branch support and airflow. Leaves can acquire purple or cherry-red tones late in bloom, though color varies with the plant and environment. Outdoor harvest is listed for late September to early October in suitable Northern Hemisphere conditions.
Historical guidance for Barney’s Farm’s version gives a longer window of approximately ten to twelve weeks indoors, with later outdoor harvests. Those figures should remain attached to that release.
The Greengenes-associated line has circulated through preservation projects and subsequent selections, so its flowering schedule and growth habits should be confirmed with the supplier. It should not inherit the Bomb Seeds yield figures simply because both packets say Cherry Bomb.
