Captain Jack

The original Captain Jack's Gulzar Afghanica is a rare landrace indica strain, brought back to the United States in the early 1970s by Captain Jack himself. Not much is known about this strain, except that Captain Jack meticulously bred it for over 40 years while keeping the genetics pure — no crosses, no cloning. Nicknamed "Herowanna," this strain is often called "the smell of SNL" as Captain Jack and his stash were a staple in the New York City comedy scene in the 1970s and 1980s. Today, Captain Jack's is a subbrand of Belushi Farms but is not widely carried or available for purchase. If you can find this uncommon strain, consider yourself lucky and savor it while it lasts.

There is also another strain that bears the same name which is not a landrace, but a balanced hybrid cross of three strains: Jack Herer x Chemo x William's Wonder. This version of Captain Jack's is thought to have been bred by Sensi Seeds and has no genetic link to the landrace strain of Captain Jack's.
