Origin 1: Symbiotic Genetics crossed Banana OG with Purple Punch, creating the line behind THC Design’s documented selection. That cut brings banana candy, citrus, and an earthy finish, with a published flower result of 22.5% THC. The sweetness has some peel to it: tangy orange and spice keep the banana from tasting like straight dessert.
Origin 2: Barney’s Farm developed its own Banana OG × Purple Punch selection, classified as 55% indica and 45% sativa and advertised at 26% THC. Ripe banana shares the bowl with sweet berries and sour citrus, while an earthy undertone gives the tropical profile a little weight.
Across these selections, relaxation is the common thread. The Symbiotic-derived cut is described as hazy and physically calming, while the Barney’s version adds euphoric and creative notes to a pronounced body high. The appeal is less about a guaranteed knockout than a gradual loss of interest in doing anything strenuous. Banana gets the first word; Punch gets the last.
Symbiotic’s original Banana Punch circulated as regular seed stock. Its grow traits should be assessed by the specific selection rather than borrowed from another breeder’s release.
Barney’s Farm lists approximately 60–65 days of flowering for its feminized photoperiod version. Plants are described as sturdy, reaching roughly 100–110 cm indoors and 150–200 cm outdoors. The breeder advertises indoor production of 600–700 g/m² under favorable conditions; that is a potential yield, not a typical harvest guarantee.
Flowers develop in resin-coated clusters, with amber pistils and green coloration that can acquire purple tones. As those clusters fill out, airflow through the canopy becomes a practical priority. Outdoor timing depends on location and conditions, with the breeder’s guidance spanning late September into early October.
