Alien Dawg is an old-school collision between Chemdawg and Alien Technology, the Afghan-derived genetic line that helped launch an entire generation of Alien crosses. The original breeding work is generally credited to OBSoul33t, with Alien Dawg later associated with The Cali Connection. The Chem side brings the sour fuel and funk, while Alien Technology piles on earthy hash, spice, and resin.
The flowers tend to run light green and heavily frosted, with orange pistils cutting through a thick coat of trichomes. The aroma can swing from sour diesel and earthy funk into berries, wood, pine, and spice, while the flavor keeps that chemical Chem bite underneath a sweeter, hashier finish.
Seasoned consumers describe an experience that starts with a quick cerebral lift before settling into a heavier, relaxed finish. Alien Dawg earned some hardware along the way, too. An Alien Dawg F2 entered by Herbal Solutions took second place in the Indica category at the 2014 High Times Michigan Medical Cannabis Cup, giving the old Chem-meets-Alien cross a trophy to match its breeding résumé.
Alien Dawg features wide, short fan leaves characteristic of Indica genetics. The cultivar grows easily indoors or outside, where it reaches average heights and is ready to harvest in about eight weeks. Pacific Seed Bank says this strain produces large yields.
