Not only does this pipe help you take the smoothest of vapor to the face, but it also looks damn cool.
Below, find out everything you need to know about the Puffco Proxy Wizard.
What is the Puffco Proxy Wizard?
Puffco is an electronic vaporizer company founded by Roger Volodarsky that's been around since 2013.
The brand emphasizes hash and aims to maximize the experience surrounding that particular form of cannabis. It has many different vaporizing products — all with great reviews.
- Puffco Peak: the famous electronic dab rig that birthed an entire e-rig sector of cannabis devices.
- Puffco Cupsy: a cup that doubles as a discreet bong.
- Puffco Proxy: one of the brand's unique innovations that's basically a dry pipe for extracts. You load it with concentrates, hit a quick button, and then you're ready to enjoy all types of concentrates like live resin and rosin.
With the Puffco Proxy, many types of add-on devices have dropped, such as the Proxy Droplet and the Proxy Wizard, which we're here to discuss.
The Puffco Proxy Wizard is a well-crafted Gandalf pipe, which is a pipe with long stems that cool the vapor as it approaches your lips.
The Proxy Wizard retails for $99.99. The Puffco Proxy base unit is not included.
Puffco Proxy Wizard design and features
The Puffco Proxy Wizard is available in two colorways: Black and Desert. It's 10 inches in length, made with hand-blown borosilicate glass, and the bowl features ergonomic grooves. Like all Gandalf pipes, the device features a longer stem to cool the vapor before it reaches your mouth.
How to use the Puffco Proxy Wizard

The point of Puffco's products is to simplify the hash-consuming experience, so using the Proxy with the Wizard is extremely simple.
Step 1: Buy cannabis concentrates
The first step to getting high with concentrates is to have cannabis concentrates. You can use a variety of concentrates with the Proxy, that's the beauty of the device. If you want to use solvent-based extracts like live resin, you can. If you want to use solventless extracts like rosin, you can.
If you're unsure of what types of concentrates to buy, you have to educate yourself. Know that these days, the majority of cannabis concentrates enthusiasts are after solventless hash.
Step 2: Fully charge the Puffco Proxy
Before using your Puffco Proxy, you want to make sure that it has a full charge. It will likely come with a half-charged battery. A full charge takes roughly 90 minutes to complete.
Step 3: Insert Puffco Proxy into the Puffco Wizard
Insert the Puffco Proxy base into your Puffco Proxy Wizard pipe. Make sure the hole in the Proxy is aligned with the hole on the Wizard.
Step 4: Power on Puffco Proxy
Turn on your Puffco Proxy by holding the side button for three seconds.
Step 5: Load concentrates
Cold load your Proxy by adding the concentrates to the chamber before heating. The Puffco Hot Knife is a great tool for doing this.
Step 6: Set temperature
The Puffco Proxy has four temperatures:
- Blue: 490°F
- Green: 510°F
- Red: 530°F
- White: 545°F
You can cycle through the temperatures depending on your consumption preference, but generally speaking, the Green setting is a great starting point.
Once you've chosen your preferred temperature, double-click the button, and the Proxy will begin heating. This is evidenced by the pulsating light.
Step 7: Inhale through the Proxy Wizard
Your Puffco Proxy will vibrate twice once it is done heating, and then you'll be ready to enjoy your Proxy Wizard. Take slow and intentional pulls of your hash to truly savor the experience.
Step 8: Clean
As with any dab session, it's important to clean your device after each use. With the Proxy, cotton swab the chamber after each use.
With the Wizard, you can use it a few times without cleaning, but you'll get a bit of reclaim build-up that will need to be removed. To do so, you can simply run an isopropyl alcohol solution through the Wizard pipe, followed by a cold water rinse. Let it dry completely before the next use.
Puffco Proxy Wizard performance
Speaking specifically about the Puffco Proxy Wizard, performance assessment comes down to one central question: does it cool the vapor like the pipe is supposed to? The answer: yes.
If you're a hash smoker who constantly coughs no matter what, it's a n excellent device to own. Not only does its design and functionality greatly increase the consumption experience, but it's also cool as hell and can be shown off. Sometimes you've gotta stunt, right?
With the Wizard, by the time you're inhaling the vapor, you've reached a cough-free zone of smooth inhales and a smooth-sailing high.
Puffco Proxy Wizard experience
When we discuss the overall Puffco Proxy Wizard experience, the concerns tend to be about ease of use, portability, and notable features that enhance the user experience. Though, questions about any potential drawbacks also occur.
For one, to use the Wizard specifically, all you have to do is hold the device in your hands and inhale. Things don't get much easier than that. It's also easy to carry around; but with it being so long, you have to be mindful about how it sits in your bags or where you leave it. In terms of how its features enhance the hash-smoking experience, the Proxy Wizard makes a world of difference in comparison to the normal pipe that comes when you buy a Puffco Proxy.
I tested out the Puffco Proxy Wizard with Honey Bananas live rosin by Hash and Flowers. Normally when I dab, I cough through every single hit, no matter what. Even at low temps, something about the vapor tickles my throat in a way that leaves me coughing up a lung. But with the Proxy Wizard, the cooling of the vapor is effective, to the point that I never coughed once during eight hits of Honey Bananas. Even holding in hits for a while before exhaling left me with a smooth-smoking experience. The Wizard is an excellent device.
Is the Puffco Proxy Wizard worth your money? In my opinion, yes.
