The founders of Trulieve came together with an extensive history working in the nursery and healthcare fields. During that time, they saw a statewide need for alternative forms of healing. Trulieve is the first dispensary to be granted a medical marijuana license in the state of Florida. They are approved by the Department of Health of Florida to legally sell Low-THC Cannabis and Medical Cannabis to patients who have visited a qualified medical marijuana doctor. Opening their first clinic in Tallahassee in July 25th, 2016, their Clearwater location soon followed on August 16th, 2016. Since opening their doors to the entire state of Florida, they have steadily increased the number of patients they help as they have expanded to more locations.
Trulieve’s staff is among the best trained in all of Florida. Patient consultants work closely with patients to fulfill their physician recommended order and explain product information. I looked at the prices and forget it. It appears that they are charging around $90 for what a two grams of flower will get you. This is disgusting that they are doing this to sick people. Only the rich can afford buying it legally.

Today I was quite pleased with my overall visit; location is nicely secluded, office is very nice and staff was quite friendly and knowledgeable. I had concerns over oil cartridges and they gladly eased my concerns by checking my product before I left the store; besides that, I was offered a print out of my information to keep count of my prescription. Coming from Colorado, I can appreciate the variety of products patients are given; such as, flower buds, oils, wax and canna-butter for edibles. My conversation with staff was quite informative; in fact, on my next visit, I will be following recommendations to try an alternative solution for incorporating cannabis into my food. This is a learning curve for everyone involved and I do appreciate both Doc MJ and Trulieve efforts to go above and beyond to help patients.

Recently my family was embarrassed and humiliated over what should’ve been a very simple return/replacement. First and foremost, I’ve been a customer with the Clearwater Trulieve since its opening and I have never had to return or raise a single complaint in my history with them. Actually, even after today, I always enjoy going in there because they have such wonderful staff.
I recently purchased a Vape product from their medical facility at approximately 6:45pm on a Wednesday. I checked the product after purchasing it as I normally do prior to leaving their facility. Patients can’t smoke on the perimeter, so just a visual check.
After leaving but before reaching the end of the street I was excited to begin my medical journey :) but sadly there was no air flow going through the Vaporizer. It was like a straw and somebody had pinched the bottom. I figured, no big deal, and tried to forcibly free whatever was stuck by taking a stronger than usual inhalation. No vapor came out but I managed to suck the liquid into the Vapor Chamber (Made for Vapor, not Fluid). I realized the mess this defect was causing was more than I could handle so my wife turned the car around and we were back at the facility no more than 10 minutes after purchasing the defective product.
They were closed at this point but I was lucky enough to catch Cid (Awesome security personnel!) outside so that I could explain my dilemma. I showed him the defective product and the mess I made and he went back inside the store to let the Management and Employee Staff know. The Manager and Employees at the time let the Security Officer know that it wouldn’t be a problem and for me to just come back when they were open.
I told Cid how the Vape Cartridge was leaking through the bottom and that I was nervous what it could look like within even the next few minutes. So, he had the brilliant idea to have me film myself with the cartridge, there at the facility, within 10 minutes of buying it, with everyone, just so there wouldn’t be any confusion later…this sadly wasn’t the case! You can clearly see in the video the ‘incapable of being used’ cartridge was already approximately half full with the ‘supposed to be empty’ part of the cylinder that’s supposed to ‘expel the gas’ was full of the thick liquid. This can also be the result of a low battery or some of the contents solidifying in the Vaporizer Core. This wasn’t my case as I had tested for carburation without the battery attached and it had 100% restricted airflow and thus no carburation.
My wife and I came back Friday evening around 6:30pm (Due to work this is my “usual” time) to do what we thought would be a simple exchange. I was very excited to finally get my Medicine after 2 days of sitting on their broken product (not their fault, accidents happen!).
So, the first thing I did when I entered the Medical Facility was pull the gentleman that sold me the defected product to the side and explain how I couldn’t use the product and needed to exchange it. He told me I couldn’t return a “used” cartridge. I can’t blame the guy; the cartridge was 1/3 full at this point but I thought it would be obvious that the cartridge wasn’t low due to use but rather from the liquid leaking everywhere. The liquid contents that entered the Vape Chamber had now either leaked up through the unsealed top mouthpiece or leaked around the rubber seal at the bottom part that connects to the battery of the cartridge. By the time I was finished presenting the product defects to them my fingertips were covered with residue.
We then spoke together with the manager on duty at the time whom informed us that another manager would have to do the approval in another several days due to there being so many returns and defects lately from OTHER customers. Awesome! This is not being treated like a true medical prescription at this point. I visit this medical facility due to a debilitating condition and I’m sold a product that can’t properly render my medication. I’ve currently been off my Doctors prescribed medication for nearly a week now waiting for someone with enough authority at Trulieve to tell me I’m not lying and that the product is defective like it is.
They insinuated I was lying because they kept saying, “you can’t return it after you use it”, but I couldn’t use it, it is still in a completely broken state. That’s when I told them about the video I took the day it happened with the security official outside their office (since it was closed, and after having someone run in and inform them, and even after they told me not worry). Realizing now that I was telling the truth and had the evidence they now proceeded to tell me how the Security Officer would likely get fired for getting involved and helping us! I was disturbed, an honest man was about to lose his job for being helpful?? (Never worry, if this was the case I have many Business Acquaintances that would hire him in a heartbeat in respect to his honorable attributes).
At this point I felt I was at a Wall. Completely baffled that the Manager could question the integrity of a good clients claims all the while in the same sentence admitting there’s an overwhelming amount of defects & complaints with their Vaporizer cartridges. In the end, I simply left everything there and told them that I had no use for it since it was completely broken and I wasn’t going to argue over the issue.

Different amounts in my cartridges every time, one malfunctioned and clogged with oil still inside, pictures sent, nothing done. Second time there i ordered 9lb hammer and not only was the cartridge level different, the color was different. I was told they were gonna send it back but it was supposed to be stronger and it wasn't. Just a bunch of sales nonsense. Im very disappointed. Staff is great but for what you get, we may as well continue to just buy bud off the street. Also do you realize just how easy it is to produce and make this medicine? When you find out it'll really make you mad. So many videos on YouTube explains everything. I highly doubt i will return. Tired of excuses and crappy product.
I ordered 10 rso caps and 4 vaporizer cups, 266.00 wth? Product is not good very cheap i miss Colorado.

great service, friendly staff, inviting environment super safe. Not a lot of inventory available. They were out of a lot of things, but it a new system so I'm sure it'll only get better.

Been to a number of dispensaries, but this one is by far the best. Not as much selection as I've seen in California, but easily the best in Florida!
