Purple Trainwreck is what happens when Mendocino Purps crashes straight into Trainwreck. Bred by Humboldt Seed Organization, the cross pulls deep purple color and sweet berry character from the Mendo side while Trainwreck brings the stretch, resin, and sharp citrus-pine funk. HSO clocks the genetic split at 65% indica and 35% sativa.

The buds can go seriously purple, with chunky flowers buried under enough frost to make the darker color pop. Break one open and the pretty side gets some teeth. Sweet berry and lavender run into lemon peel, pine, and warm spice, with an earthy edge underneath that keeps Purple Trainwreck from turning into another purple candy strain.

Purple Trainwreck regulars describe a high that gets moving upstairs before putting its feet up. The opening stretch is bright, cerebral, and euphoric, then the Mendo side starts pulling things toward a deeper, slower relaxation. That split personality is the whole point: Trainwreck gets the engine running, Purps eventually takes the keys.

According to the breeder, Purple Trainwreck has a mostly indica lineage, producing violet and purple-hued buds in a 58-to-63-day flowering period. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation, though particularly responsive to warm, Mediterranean climates, this strain is resistant to both pests and moisture.
