Doug’s Varin is a rare strain, rich in the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), discovered unexpectedly by Dougie’s Farm, hence the name. Not even Doug knows its genetic origins since he grew seeds from what he thought was Harlequin.
The strain has a woody, citrus taste and earthy, pine scent, according to reports online. Doug’s Varin is sought for its high levels of the cannabinoid THCV, which early studies indicate contain energizing and hunger suppressant properties.
Being rare, there’s not much growing information available, only conjecture based on the Dougie’s Farm’s claim that Doug’s Varin grows similar to other Sativa plants. Given that, it should do well indoors or outside in a warm, dry environment. It should flower in eight-to-nine weeks and be ready for harvest in late October. Resulting buds are bright green with brownish yellow pistils and glistening trichomes.
