Bubble Gum

Bubble Gum is an old-school candy strain with roots in Indiana and a family tree that gets considerably fuzzier once you start asking who bred what. Its original parentage remains unknown, but the commonly told history has Indiana Bubble Gum genetics making their way to the Netherlands, where Adam of T.H. Seeds, Simon of Serious Seeds, and Tony of Sagarmatha Seeds developed their own selections from the material.

Those branches didn't stay identical. T.H. Seeds pushed its Bubble Gum toward the indica side, while Serious Seeds developed a version with more sativa influence. That split helps explain why Bubble Gum can look, grow, and hit differently depending on whose version is in the jar. What survived the trip across every branch was the trait that made the strain famous in the first place: an absurdly sweet candy-shop nose.

Bubble gum sweetness comes first, followed by strawberry, berries, fruit, and a softer earthy-spice edge underneath. Some selections lean hard enough into strawberry candy to smell like somebody tore open a fresh pack of pink gum in the grow room. The plants generally produce dense, resinous flowers, with the exact structure and flowering behavior shifting between the different breeder lines.

Those who've stuck with this strain describe an upbeat, euphoric start with happiness and a little creative momentum before relaxation begins filling in underneath. Some selections stay brighter and more social, while heavier versions settle considerably deeper. Bubble Gum has been passed around, selected, and reworked for decades, but that unmistakable pink-candy funk is still doing the heavy lifting.
