Banana Kush

Banana Kush has been passed around California long enough for more than one family tree to grow around the name. The versions share plenty of OG character and that unmistakable banana sweetness, but their breeding histories aren't identical.

Origin 1: Crockett Family Farms traces its Banana Kush to Ghost OG crossed with Skunk Haze. Crockett originally called the cultivar Banana after noticing a faint banana aroma, then renamed it Private Reserve after realizing the Banana name was already taken. The original nickname stuck anyway, and Crockett's Banana Kush went on to become important breeding stock in its own right.

Origin 2: Cali Kush has also claimed a Banana Kush bred from OG Kush and a male known simply as Banana. This version helped establish the other familiar interpretation of Banana Kush, pairing OG funk with a much sweeter, creamier banana profile.

Banana Kush smells like somebody left the fruit bowl in the grow room. Ripe banana and tropical sweetness lead into cream, earth, wood, and Kushy funk, with peppery spice hanging around the finish. The flowers tend to be dense and resinous, with green buds, orange pistils, and enough frost to advertise the OG side of the family before the banana aroma gives away the rest.
