Named after its frosty trichome clusters reminiscent of the snow-capped mountains in Aspen, the Aspen OG strain is a cross between Sour Cream and San Fernando Valley OG. Bred by Colorado-based 303 Seeds, this is a mostly sativa flower that produces a sweet and fruity aroma, including notes of berries and fresh pine. The forest-green nugs are notably resinous and crystally. The high is true to the strain’s sativa classification — you’ll likely feel energized, happy, and overall blissful. Aspen OG has a moderate THC content, so whether you’re a beginner or advanced cannabis user, you can hit these slopes without worry.

Royal King Seeds also breeds an Aspen OG strain, this time crossing Sour Cream with Chemdawg. While this is also a sativa-dominant flower, it’s slightly more potent, with its THC content sitting around 20%. This Aspen OG has a fresh, earthy fragrance — think pine trees, lemon, soil, and wood. Like its bright and invigorating profile, the nugs are light green, highlighted by fiery orange pistils, and glittering with icy trichomes.

Aspen OG is descended from an SFV OG Kush female phenotype crossed with a Sour Cream male, itself the descendent of Sour Diesel x G13 Haze. A sativa-leaning hybrid, Aspen OG stretches upward during its vegetative and flowering states, producing rock-hard compacted nugs in 63 to 70 days when grown indoors. The strain is considered difficult to grow and best reserved for experienced cultivators. Aspen OG prefers an outdoor, warm, and humid climate, but can thrive both indoors and outside.
