hybrid
20 to 26 percent THC range

Animal Gas answers to one name and comes out of two different kennels. Each origin is broken down below.

Origin 1: Seed Junky Genetics bred the Animal Gas strain most heads know by crossing Chemdog 91 with Animal Cookies. It’s an indica-leaning hybrid, roughly 60/40, and the breeder pitches it as old school meeting new: classic Chem funk with the Cookies finish stacked on top. The nose is heavy gas with vanilla and lemon on the back end, and the flavor stays gassy with a lingering cookie aftertaste. Some cuts push a musky, sweet-and-sour funk that growers compare to a dank wet dog. Nugs come large, dense, and sticky, with specks of pink and purple. Effect reports split. Some reviewers call it creative, energetic, and focused, while others describe a light mood lift that settles into calm and sleep. Paranoia, dry mouth, and dry eyes are the listed downsides.

Origin 2: Verano’s strain guide lists a different Animal Gas as Berry GPS x Apple Fritter. This version is a hybrid with earthy, sweet, gassy flavor, and its effects are listed as soothing, relaxing, and euphoric. The guide gives its terps as limonene, caryophyllene, and myrcene.

So is Animal Gas indica or sativa, and how much THC is in the tank? Origin 1 leans indica and lists at about 20% to 26%. Origin 2 is sold as a plain hybrid with no published number. Check the lineage on the bag before you trust the name. One is Chem funk in a Cookies coat. One is a Fritter with a gas habit. Either way, crack a window.

Origin 1 is the breeder’s plant. Seed Junky released Animal Gas as regular seed only, for indoor or outdoor runs, so expect to sex plants and hunt for the gassiest keeper. Feminized Animal Gas seeds sold under the name come from other sellers, and those listings give a 7 to 9 week flower, medium height, and high yields at 20% to 22% THC. Treat those as sellers’ numbers. Odor control isn’t optional with this much fuel in the room.

The cross has also gone to work as a parent, showing up in Goat Gas and Toxic Shooter.

Origin 2 has no seed release and no published grow data. It appears to live in-house, and one of its listed parents, Berry GPS, has no documented lineage of its own.
