Amnesia Haze is Soma Seeds' globe-trotting take on the Haze family, built from a genetic stew that stretches from Southeast Asia to Jamaica, Afghanistan, and Hawaii. Soma describes Thai, Cambodian, and Laotian genetics at its foundation, layered with Jamaican Haze and an Afghani-Hawaiian component that helped pull the flowering time back from full-on tropical sativa territory.
That pedigree gives Amnesia Haze plenty of old-school personality. Citrus, herbs, earth, flowers, and peppery spice stack over a sharper Haze backbone, with some expressions pushing into lemon, pine, and sweeter fruit. The flowers tend to be resin-heavy and dense for a plant carrying this much tropical sativa ancestry.
Dispensary regulars describe an energetic, cerebral experience with euphoria, creativity, and an upbeat social streak, balanced by enough relaxation to keep the experience from feeling completely untethered. It's Haze with plenty of horsepower, but considerably more polish than some of the sprawling old tropical lines sitting deeper in its family tree.
Amnesia Haze also has the trophy case to back up its reputation. Soma credits the strain with first place at the 2004 High Times Cannabis Cup after Barney's Breakfast Bar entered his cut, followed by another first-place finish at the 2012 High Times Cannabis Cup. Those wins helped turn Amnesia Haze from an Amsterdam favorite into one of the defining Haze hybrids of its era.
Amnesia Haze asks for patience. Soma lists the original photoperiod strain at roughly 12–13 weeks of flowering, with the long cycle reflecting its predominantly sativa ancestry. Plants can stretch considerably and produce substantial flowers when given enough room and time.
Soma developed the strain primarily with indoor cultivation in mind but also reports that it can grow outdoors. In either setting, its long flowering cycle makes sufficient space, training, and a long enough growing season important considerations.
