Please note the following opinion/interpretation is as of November 2016:
With the legalization of recreational use of marijuana under Prop 64, adults 21 years and older will be able to possess and purchase marijuana and related products at dispensaries carrying a state and city permit. As a result, ‘Medical’ marijuana patients under Prop 215 may feel as if it is UNnecessary to remain a patient. However, Prop 215 patients will retain many advantages over recreational users. MMJ Patients will be exempt from all retail sales tax and new local taxes on purchases of marijuana products from dispensaries with a state medical marijuana ID card. Taxes being imposed on growing and selling both medical and non-medical marijuana, including a 15 % exise tax at time of purchase by the consumer. One may consider that taxes saved may be viewed as money which won't be potentially used for abuses by special interests like creation of monopolies, etc... In addition, the quantities of cannabis one may possess can be up to eight ounces in comparison to a recreational user’s one ounce. Cannabis cultivation is not restricted to six plants, but based on medical need or a caregiver’s recommendations. Recreational dispensaries are not available until January 1st, 2018 so patients might still want to consider obtaining one regardless.

Prop 64 became effective on November 2016 with new legal implications. The crime of selling marijuana by a person under 18 years old is punishable by mandatory attendance of drug education or counseling and community service. For adults who are selling marijuana for non-medical purposes is now punishable by up to 4 years in state prison or county jail. Anyone selling cannabis without a license or having gone through the proper bureaucratic channels may be forced to serve up to 6 months in county jail and/or a fine up to $500.
Clearly there are many benefits to having your MMJ recommendation/card, helping you save money, minimizing legal risk and likely creating a better peace of mind.

Verity Holistic Center strives to be the most convenient and reasonably priced doctors’ facility for medical marijuana evaluations in Santa Ana and Orange County. Prioritizing professionalism and attentive compassion, VHC makes it easy for patients to access the medicine they need at a price they can afford.

The physician of VHC - Santa Ana achieved his Doctorate from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and has practiced medicine since 1990. He then ventured into the medical cannabis field as he witnessed its advantage over traditional pharmaceuticals, with reduced side effects, very low addiction risk, and lack of fatal overdoses. Seeking to truly help his patients and alleviate their suffering, He began to provide cannabis therapies and recommendations, eventually founding Verity Holistic Centers.

Today, they provide medical marijuana evaluations for patients at their multiple locations, with a strong focus on addressing each individual’s need to find the most effective therapy. The physician's process is efficient, affordable, and compassionate, where patient comfort is of the highest priority. Lame

Got here at 11 and nobody is here. Waited 20 minutes and still nobody showed up. Not even sure if this place is open. Tried the number and your fowarded to a voicemail. Guess they only want to help people when it's convenient for them. What kind of business doesn't stick to it's hours

They removed my bad review

My friend and I (the other reviewer below) both had our bad reviews removed from this spot. They clearly printed a flyer with inaccurate information, and will not honor the $25 renewal. I didn't receive any attempt to make up for the misunderstanding and got stuck with the $35 price for each of us. LAME

False Advertisement

They removed my last review. All I can say is I have a flyer that says $25 Renewal. When I arrived, they said it's only for Releaf renewals. Any other renewal was considered a new patient. Hopefully they won't remove this one too.

CAME IN FOR ONE THING. MY REC

3 people thought this review was helpful

small office, one receptionist, filled out a form, met with the dr. via video chat. Its 2016, so I guess in this day and age... its normal. the doctor seems sincere and really concerned with my symptoms. quick and painless. overall great experience!

I had to get change from the gas station because they don't accept bills larger than $20

Be Careful

so sheisty, I got my renewal thinking it was 25 to renew my rec, but then the girl told me 35 and r wouldn't admit they give out renewals for 25, regardless of whether the previous rec was from them or another doctor. I left feeling skimped and regretful

CALIFORNIA DOCTOR DISCLAIMER REQUIREMENT

NOTICE TO CONSUMERS: The Compassionate Use Act of 1996 ensures that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use cannabis for medical purposes where medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person’s health would benefit from the use of medical cannabis.
