The ensuing battle between Istar and Balrog would prove to be the catalyst for Gandalf's metamorphosis, coming into his true powers to defeat an even greater darkness. The Balrog Pipe is a singular churchwarden-style pipe with an ebony finish evoking the depths from whence it came. The bowl is emblazoned with the engraved portrait of this formidable foe with twisted horns and a malicious stare.
