Cherry OG puts fruit in the fuel tank. Sweet-to-tart cherry and sour gas define Emerald Triangle’s familiar version, while other breeders take the name into coffee, savory funk, and different OG pedigrees. The cherry connection runs through the name; the genetics need a closer look.

Origin 1: Emerald Triangle developed its version from a Cherry Thai line and Lost Coast OG. The breeder first crossed Cherry Thai with an old Afghan plant, then backcrossed toward the Cherry Thai mother before introducing the OG parent. That history explains why some descriptions list three ancestral components while others shorten the pairing to Cherry Thai × Lost Coast OG.

Its flavor varies from sweet cherry to pronounced sour diesel, with the breeder describing both fruitier and fuel-heavy expressions. Dense, medium-sized flowers carry abundant resin on a tall, lanky plant.

Origin 2: Humboldt Seed Organisation lists Cherry Slyder OG crossed with True OG. Its release is distinctly indica-leaning. The supplied breeder description establishes the parentage and flowering period but offers little detail about its particular flavor or effects.

Origin 3: Silver River Seeds crosses its OG Kush 324 selection, described as derived from OG #18, with Mohan Thai. The breeder’s sensory description gets unusually specific: cherries, roasted coffee, apple-like gasoline, and a savory cured-meat funk. Sour fuel and red fruit carry into the flavor, with herbal and antiseptic-like edges. Compact, heavily resinous flowers form along a branching, pine-tree-shaped plant.

Origin 4: Apothecary Genetics describes its release simply as an OG male crossed with Cherry. The exact identity of that Cherry parent is not established in the breeder’s short description, so a more specific pedigree would overstate what is known.

Those who've kept this strain in heavy rotation report uplifting euphoria alongside comfortable physical relaxation, particularly in accounts of Emerald Triangle’s version. Silver River describes a more changeable experience, combining mental stimulation with a substantial relaxing pull. Clear-headed lift and hazier relaxation both appear in the family’s descriptions, depending on the release and selection.
