Fifteen years ago, amidst the anticipation of a Rock the Bells hip hop event featuring Nas and Damian Marley, we had an epiphany. As we navigated through a landscape dotted with emerging collectives, the idea of opening our own cannabis shop took root. Two of us hailed from the Trap, while the other two from business, we recognized the strength in combining our diverse backgrounds. Thus, during the era of Proposition 215 and SB 420, we assembled a formidable team of like-minded individuals and started our first Mutual benefit association Amongst many hurdles and a lot of moves. Now, fifteen years later, we find ourselves pioneering the sale of "weed on the internet."

Our name Banyan Tree draws its name from a significant moment of inspiration during a vacation in Lahaina, Maui. Seeking out "pakalolo" (Hawaiian for weed), we were directed to the Banyan tree by the locals. Under its sprawling branches, we discovered more than just cannabis; we unearthed a transformative essence that we yearned to bring back to Fresno.

All the founders of Banyan Tree proudly hail from Fresno, California.
