This hybrid of OG Kush and Bubble Gum was then crossed with Ruderalis genetics, to create OG Bubble Gum Autoflowering.
We are talking about high velocity growing when describing the basic growing traits of this variety. It’s close to being impossible but OG Kush Bubble Gum Autoflowering is ready for harvest in just 50-60 days after germination. When growing strains with a short life cycle like this, it’s very important to give them a little extra-care for the first 3 weeks. This variety will reward its grower with explosive and fast growth afterwards. Most plants don’t exceed heights of 60-90cm, making them very suitable to smaller growing spaces, like balconies or smaller tents. Outdoor growers aiming for a quick harvest will also not be disappointed. OG Bubble Autoflowering yields up to 100-175g per plant, and usually grows to a height of 70-110cm. This strain is easy to manage, even for beginners.
What makes this autoflowering variety so great is the fact that it didn’t lose much of its potency. It doesn’t need to fear comparison with the feminized version of OG Bubble Gum. It’s still the aromatic blend of sweet berries and oriental spices, making the taste unique and highly pleasant. One also finds the distinctive flavours of OG Kush in this crossing, with slightly acidic, lemon-like notes. Zambeza luckily managed to keep the potency at very high levels, with a THC content of 16%. After hitting some of this flavourful bud, one notices the strong Indica effect that made Ocean Grown Kush an international success. OG Bubble Gum Autoflowering will induce a state of intense relaxation, paired with a feeling of being incredibly stoned but happy.

The exact lineage and genetics of Bubble Gum remain a mystery. However, the strain’s history began in Indiana, where its original grower gave three different Bubble Gum plants to three Netherlands breeders — Adam of T.H. Seeds, and Cerebral Seeds’ Simon and Tony (who eventually split to form Serious Seeds and Sagarmatha Seeds, respectively).
In the Netherlands, each breeder cultivated a slightly different Bubble Gum phenotype. Adam at T.H. Seeds describes his version as “mostly Indica,” while Simon at Cerebral Seeds considers his variation of the strain “mostly Sativa.”
It’s said to emit a sweet, bubble gum fragrance and carry a prominent strawberry flavor when it comes from feminized seeds.
Bubble Gum has won 13 awards, including 2nd at High Times Cannabis Cup in 1995, 1st Outdoor at Spannabis Cup in 2005, 1st Outdoor at Spannabis Cup in 2006 and 1st Hybrid at the 4th annual Jack Herer Cup in 2018.
