The wait times midday on the weekends can be very long, up to 35-45 minutes, which may be unacceptable to some. Often times they are out of flower, or only have one heavy indica strain. Despite this, Trulieve can be a hit or miss experience, and the employees can be very helpful and courteous.

Would recommend Cannabis Theory’s to anyone seeking alternatives to traditional medicine. Five stars.

I stopped by Curaleaf at a time when they were not busy. Being a first time costumer, I was provided with a short consultation, which I appreciated despite being a long time patient. Curaleaf had plenty of flower in stock, more flower than I had ever seen in stock at a dispensary in FL. The store had menus which makes it very easy to figure out what’s in stock. The staff was very friendly. Overall, this was one of the best dispensary experiences I’ve had in FL. Highly recommended.

I frequent the Sarasota Trulieve, so I stopped by the Port Charlotte location on my way home. This is a larger store and is conveniently tucked away off of US41. Despite the very small amount of customers, there was still a 10+ minute wait, which seems inevitable and happens at almost every dispensary. They had only 3 types of flower to choose from; running low as usual with FL dispensaries. They also have no menu and no central location for their product, so they will need to run across the store just to grab product to let you know what they have in stock. This method of cataloging might be my biggest issue with Trulieve, as asking repeatedly about strains and having to wait a minute or so to drag out product severely slows down the whole process. Preroll wasn’t anything to write home about (too tight). I’m a big fan of their syringes, so I picked up some Lemon Haze distillate.

Trulieve is the most convenient location for me; most of the other dispensaries in Sarasota are located a good distance away from the city center. The staff is friendly. Trulieve offers a wide variety of strains, which can be a little daunting at first, but can be fun to spice things up. Unfortunately, things move very slowly at Trulieve. Very often the wait is over 30 minutes. The wait is compounded by a very slow and clunky Point of Service interaction. There is no product menu, so you have to ask the employees to repeat themselves or drag all the product out. The online order system is very flawed to the point of uselessness. If you like flower, get used to 9 Lb Hammer because that’s all they’ll ever have if it’s not 1pm on delivery day. I’ve had more positive experiences than negative experiences, so I’d recommend Trulieve. There is also a great comic book & board games store nearby, and one of the best taco spots in town next door.

Muv has great deals, so make sure to check their deals. Their online order system also works well. Muv’s product is very high quality. Like most FL dispensaries, their product is expensive, they are often out of product (especially flower), and the wait time can be excessive at peak hours. My favorite product is their Gold (when it’s on sale).
