I tried Marshmallow OG under the Avenue brand as a med patient and it was fantastic. It was on sale @ $35/3.5 and had good numbers; that was before I even realized this was Trulieve's acquisition and rebranding of the dreaded Harvest. This was also $35, more muted, small buds sold as full-size and the effects were more or less OK. The gap between this and Avenue quality was a mile wide. Partially a fact-finding mission. Not bad flower but a really poor value with others' smalls being bigger and roll one's mob boss @ $20 being way louder. At $20-$25 I would have considered it a deal, even if not a bargain. The trim was leafy/larfy but better looking than roll one. Same bone dry non-sticky cure. But slightly better trichome coverage. Lesson learned. We may roll the dice on Trulieve again, but only it's cheap enough to amount to material savings over better budget options. Not terrible but there are way better sacks at this price point.

This does not win on bag appeal, but that is not my biggest priority. This was sold as full size buds, and the largest one in the sack was still smaller than an eighth from another grower that was sold as smalls. Some were foxtailed and the trim job was pretty lackluster. And the flower was on the dry side overall. So, fugly buds. Aroma was very much on point, mostly lemon but smooth. There was a funk to it that I couldn't quite figure out, not earthy, gassy, skunky or spiced--maybe a slight sour or chem? Taste also delivered really well for low temp vaping. That was the biggest surprise considering that this aspect can sometimes be a letdown on pricier flower. Potency was nothing crazy but plenty serviceable. Overall this still absolutely decimated my last hemp buy that was exactly the same price. Coming back into rec for the first time after several years of going with hemp, it was really encouraging to find something like this in the budget section.

My go-to on the shore recently became a 'probably not' now that rec is here. I specified that I wanted hard badders like the typical SunMed badder, and the person helping me was more focused on culling the herd (the line). I also noted 'no egg yolks' as they are not even really badders (but get marketed as such) because they are impossible to weigh individual doses with, without losing too much to the parchment. He showed me budders and everything on the menu but there was zero specific product knowledge whatsoever. Had I known it would have been like that I would have ordered online and at least donated less time to this venture; this dude was completely useless. Of course I got home and whadayaknow--3 out of 4 grams were egg yolks. In addition my total rang up over $30 more at the register than at the kiosk so I had to straighten that out too, whereby I was thanked for my understanding. I understand that I will be unlikely to do this again, when I never spend more than $25/g online.

Prices and selection get me to go there, but the service is what keeps me coming back.

From start to finish this is a very easy place to do business with. Inventory is well managed and always offers a great selection, and operations are highly efficient. Everyone that works there has always been very friendly and helpful. I have yet to make any purchase(s) that I regret there.

I think first off that some patients need to have realistic expectations about some things. Getting the oft short eighth is inevitable; what really tells how well a business is run is all in how they respond. This only ever happened once in 8 months, and they were so nice about it that I never even thought of raising my voice. I presented them with the info, and they were very flexible regarding working out suitable terms to make up for it. I also really appreciate the menu revisions, which is now complete with THC percentages. This makes the whole thing so much easier. You guys also helped tremendously with the proper guidance when I was ready to give edibles a try. I have lost over 70 lbs since certification since last Halloween, so I don't think they always recognize me lol--but I am glad to see that Jacob is still working there, since he was the very first budtender to take part in a legal transaction with me. Keep up the great work with curbside and thank you!

There was some sort of a fruity smell, but this was like smoking air. Several bong rips were accompanied by a pleasant relaxation, which is odd considering I thought this was supposed to be 85% sativa. The main reason for the low score, is that this weed is just straight-up weird and not really what you think it's going to be. It's not bad, but remembering this will be like trying to remember the names of obscure 90's grunge bands in the now. Yes, ultimately forgettable weed.

Positive does an excellent job all around. Inventory is well-managed, staff is friendly and helpful, and even when there's a lot of people in the lobby the wait is never more than a few minutes. Using the online order feature is not only convenient, but it is simple and it has worked flawlessly for me every time. I could really not ask for anything more from a dispensary.

While I don't knock those who write glowing reviews immediately after their first-ever trip to a dispensary, I wanted see how my experiences rated over several visits before drawing any hard conclusions. I have gone to Positive Energy about 6-8 times since certification on Halloween of 2019. The service at Positive Energy is always right on point, most likely leaving the patient with the impression that this is an efficient and well-organized place of business. That tends to inspire confidence in the patient, and if you have never been to a dispensary before (or only once prior to your first visit like myself), any stress or nervousness associated with acquiring your meds should go right out the window just as it did for me. I say this as someone that deals with nearly constant and high amounts of anxiety as well. After having completed the brief intake form online, I showed up the next day for the first time. Denise knew who I was right away from my ID photo, and she has remembered my name every time thereafter that I have walked in. They usually keep 4 registers going, so even during times when the waiting room had a bit of a crowd, I have never had to wait more than 3-4 minutes prior to gaining entry to the private area where business is conducted. While some may cite high prices as a criticism, that is really just an unfortunate part of how the free market works in more remote areas where a lower overall volume of business is conducted. Honestly though, between some of the wonderful Flight Pack specials and deli price drops, there are always plenty of opportunities to snag some quality buds at prices that are perfectly reasonable. The selection and inventory management there always offer plenty of choices. No matter what day it is, there is almost always even a handful of hot high-testers, even if not all of them are on the shelves for more than that day before selling out. Being able to use Weedmaps to order is reliable, and it is certainly great if you can't get there early on in the day, but you want to make sure that what you really want will still be there when you get there. Some budtenders are more knowledgeable than others, but since I am not looking for a canna-degree and I usually know exactly what I want, the fact that everyone there is so nice and eager to help is all that I really need as a patient. Completing transactions at Positive Energy is about as easy as it can possibly be, maybe even fun sometimes, and I will definitely continue to keep on coming back.
