Not as good as they used to be
I found this place way back in 2020 and really liked it. It was comfy, charming, and definitely the vibe you want from a truly "local" dispensary. But I came back 3-4 weeks ago to see a lot has changed. The inventory dropped in quality and was sparsely stocked when I was there, and their prices haven't caught up with the current market. The staff was still nice, but I don't think it was any of the same people I saw last time, and I didn't feel like everyone was "on the same page" so to speak. It felt more like a campus dispensary in that they were fairly cool but not that knowledgeable. Also, maybe they fixed this, but their credit card machine situation was not good. They were doing the ATM-style machine even on non-MMJ products, and it charges a fee if you want to use it! I get it for MMJ, but I was just trying to buy a cheap pipe and some papers. I'll give 2 stars though because I still like the way the store looks on the inside. Sad to see such a cool place go off the rails.

Norman, OklahomaFirst I'd like to apologize for your experience with us in 2021. I understand that our prices were higher than some of our competition and we were struggling to keep things in stock, but I can assure you that as it stands today, Friendly is proud to be growing and improving more than ever. We have a passionate staff who are dedicated to keeping the store well stocked with high quality products that we personally endorse, and since 2021 our prices have dropped significantly! I also completely understand the frustration in using a ATM style debit reader for the gift shop side of the store, we are in the process of changing this, but part the reason it has been such a challenge is that we sell Kratom in the Gift shop which, despite being legal, is not something a lot of credit card reader providers would support at the time. Thank you for your support and we'd love to see you again!

It's all about prices
Not a lot to say because I think the deals speak for themselves. Place is clean, shelves are stocked, product's pretty decent overall, etc., but I bought 9g of Head of Honey concentrate for like $100 recently, which is absurd. It's hard to support these guys 100% just because I get the sense they're more of a chain than a local boutique, but I gotta admit you don't get multiple successful stores without knowing what you're doing. If you're like me and not made of money, you'll appreciate these guys set you up with a lot of product for not a lot of money.

Dark Horse with Room to Grow
I think these guys are really well-intentioned and take the medical aspect seriously, which is great. I didn't even know they were there initially, but they have great real estate and the interior is pleasant and tasteful. A nice surprise spot. Service-wise, I don't know if this is training or just the person I got, but I did feel like they speak to patients as if they know little to nothing about marijuana. I'm sure they deal with plenty of people who need that education, but it can be off-putting if you don't need the intro. I didn't end up buying anything, but the flower and concentrate quality seemed above-average and I'll likely be back. I believe they even carried CBG flower. Very wild and the first I've seen in Norman. One thing to note is the Weedmaps prices do not include tax (or they didn't when I went). I don't really understand that decision, but it would've been good to know before going in. I've heard their OKC location is fantastic, though, so I'll be checking them out next time I'm up there. Definitely a place to keep an eye on.

Friendly and Very Comfortable
I'm surprised these guys don't have a higher rating. It's not the largest or fanciest dispensary in Norman, but it's by far the most comfortable I've seen in town. A lot of places have waiting areas for people to sit in, but they don’t seem to like you sitting down and lingering. This place though, I saw one of the employees sitting up front with an older patient and having a real conversation. Maybe the only place I’ve been where the budtenders aren’t actively trying to “sell” you on anything and actually want to connect personally. Definitely makes you take their recommendations more seriously. I also found out they’re one of the few places that doesn’t nag you about your card the second you walk in. Good selection and good prices other than that, and it was nice to see they have a lot more going on than just MMJ. Lots of neat pipes. They also do CBD-only flower if you don't have a card. Not my speed, but a nice touch. Don’t know why you’d go to Cannabless when this place is a block away.

Lots of Money, Not Much Character
Full disclosure, I didn't buy anything from these guys. Their setup, last time I was in there, was a couple separate showcases with more or less the same selection in each (I'm guessing to let each patient see everything for themselves, but the selection is deceptively large if you're a first-timer). Of what they do carry, there's little you can't find elsewhere for a better price, and the level of knowledge/patient-first focus is middling at best. Nobody was rude or unkind, but they seemed more recreational than medical. This is fine, but not what I shop for. The other odd thing is just how much floor space is occupied by Vertica-branded merchandise. The other location might be different, but, together with the expensive-looking décor, the place seems to want to convince customers it's a Big Deal without having the name recognition or real estate to back it up. It's not a bad place, but it's below-average for a dispensary that promises a high-end patient experience. Two stars instead of one for the ambition, though, as this could be a great place once it's had more time to develop and find some heart.
