Curaleaf - Gainesville

1st visit to Gainesville Curaleaf
I have ordered from Curaleaf and have become familiar with their products. Usually I hit the Ocala location but they were out of what I needed. Tried alot of products and I have found that the distillates are the best bang for the buck. Unfortunately Curaleaf carries only 3 distillates. Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid in different percentages ranging from 75 to 85% THC. Prices were very reasonable at about $53 a gram (with discount) I picked up 1 Sativa and a 3 Hybrids. First48 at 84.5 THC and .3 CBD. Also got some of Blue Dream at 79 THC and a wopping 8.6 CBD. Not a huge fan of CBD so I am going to mix the two together to create a slightly less CBD vape mixture. Liberty had Blue Dream which came in at 90.5 THC and 3.5 CBD. They can't keep that distillate in stock as it is very CBD heavy which some people like. What sucked was the guy I was talking to while waiting took the last 3 of the 85% Sativa. He said he was there especially for that. I mentioned that I was that what I had just driven an hour for and not to take the last one. He took all 3 that were left. Thanks buddy. Well this will be my last trip to Gainesville to pick up product. The staff was cool and the wait was minimal but it is a long drive for me. I was told that that Curaleaf will deliver for free. All I need to do is check website for inventory for Gainesville and then call that location to have it delivered.

Never wait long at Curaleaf
I have had a problem recently at Curaleaf getting their concentrate. Many times it is sold out. Today I picked up the 85% THC indica & the 85% THC sativa for $54 a gram each with my discount. Glad to see that Curaleaf is stocking these distillates and hope this will continue. Going to Curaleaf is like going to Trulieve without waiting over an hour and a half.

Distillate percentage inconsistant
I usually purchase the concentrate from Liberty. Originally the strength was anywhere from 88 to 93%. The last syringe I purchased was only 80%. Also I would like several distillates to choose from and not just 3.

Lots of Vape and not enough concentrates
I tried to order ahead and couldn't get help after an hour on hold. I ended up going to Curaleaf's Ocala location.Boy are those employees SLOW. There was 2 people ahead of me and both took 15 mins to move along. Once I got to the counter I was informed that only one concentrate was available. Price was $52 with my discount. There were plenty of disposible vape carts but I was only looking for concentrates. Overall, Curaleaf falls in the middle as far as price and selection. Trulieve and Liberty Sciences are the best. Knox and MUV are the worst. Hopefully recreational weed will come soon and we can ditch the present system. ****UPDATE 7 8 19. **** Curaleaf is one to watch as they have been aggressively taking patients away from Trulieve. That information was according to an employee at Curaleaf. He said they have seen a bunch of people switching from Trulieve. Go check Curaleaf out as they have good service, discounts, and prices. I have seen an improved product selection since I wrote this review.

Extremely kind staff
I was very sick from a stomach virus and needed some cannabis to calm my system down. I got to Liberty Sciences about 15 mins before they opened. I was so sick to my stomach, I knocked on the door. Cory, the manager was kind enough to let me purchase my medication 15 mins early. I was out the door within a matter of minutes. Everytime I visit Liberty Sciences I am impressed by their professionalism and helpfulness. While the quality of the product does vary their prices are right in line with Trulieve without the wait.

MUV Grand Opening in Tampa
I have been a Florida MMJ patient for the last 15 months. I have purchased various THC and CBD products from Trulieve, Surterra, Aphria (Liberty), Grow Healthy, Knox, and Curaleaf.I have found that THC concentrates are the most effective way to take my medication. I have also found concentrates to be the best value at cost per mg. I normally purchase concentrate and put it into a ccell cartridge for vaping. So I hadn't had a chance to try any products from ALTMED. I decided to take a ride and check out the GRAND OPENING of MUV in Tampa. The facility is clean, modern looking, and properly staffed. I was greeted by several marketing folks and directed to a staff member to check in. After about 10 minutes I was waited on. After reviewing my options, I ended up picking up 2 cartridges of their PRIME concentrate. With the 25 % discount for the event, I ended up picking up the 2 cartridges for $75. Each cartridge was 420mg THC. I wanted to buy the MUV concentrate but found out it cannot be transferred into a vape cartridge but can only dabbed on consumed orally. MUV's concentrate comes in a metered dispenser and NOT in the standard syringe that Trulieve and others use currently. The tip is wide and metal and doesn't allow a way to transfer contents into a vape cart. You can either meter out a rice size piece and eat it or apply the drop to a dab rig. Guess what MUV sells a dipper pen for $130. The metered dispensing system MUV is using prevents the patients from buying concentrates and filling up cartridges themselves. So you have either have to buy THEIR cartridges or their pretty pricey dabber. I reluctantly ended up buying the PRIME distillate in a cartridge. Unfortunately, the MUV cartridges did not work well at all with any of my other 3 dispensary vape batteries. I had to return to MUV and get a MUV battery. At first they wanted to charge $15 but after a discussion with the manager I ended up getting it for free. My overall impression was that MUV 's products were pretty much the same as the other dispensaries.Capsules, drops, vape, shatter, concentrate, etc. As far as their prices they are a little on the high side. I'm really only looking for high potency THC concentrates. At $90 a gram, MUV's pricing AND issues with a metered dispenser will prevent me from doing any future business. I just got back from Liberty Sciences and bought a gram of Blue Dream THC concentrate that is 90.5 % THC and 3.5% CBD. Normal price is $75 but I picked it up a discounted price of $60. Why would I pay $90 to purchase a gram of from MUV when I can pick up a better price from a competing company?

My first experience with Grow Healthy
I have been a Florida Medical Marijuana card holder for just over 1 year. I have tried the majority of the products from Trulieve, Knox, Surterra, Curaleaf, and Aphria. Recently, I heard that Grow Healthy had started up operations here in Florida. While presently there are no open locations they do deliver statewide. So I called their toll free number listed on their website and ordered a gram of the Cindy White THC 85 % distillate and a gram of the Bubba Kush THC 78% distillate. Normal price is $85 per gram. With my first time discount of $75 I picked both grams of distillate for $95 including free delivery. I originally called on a Friday afternoon and spoke with a very nice rep named Allison. She took my order and said that the first opportunity for deliver would be 5 days away. Since I was getting the huge discount I went ahead and placed the order. Otherwise, 5 days is way too long to take deliver of ANYTHING. Especially if you are only 1 hour away and your company has no dispensaries where I can come to pick it up. I guess I will see you Wednesday. So 5 days later ...I received a text at 7 AM that morning that my delivery was on route. Ok. At 9:15 AM a very nice delivery person dropped off my order. I tried both of the concentrates in a vape pen. Neither the Bubba Kush or the Cindy White concentrate tasted that great. They were not as potent or flavorful as the concentrates that I purchase from Aphria or Trulieve. Disappointing. As far as future transactions, Grow Healthy's prices are too high. $85 for a gram of distillate is really pushing it. I normally pay anywhere from $45 to $60 depending on sales and discounts. Even with providing a 20% discount for being permanently disabled, Grow Healthy's prices are still higher than their competitors. Unless they drop the prices significantly, I don't think I be be ordering from Grow Healthy anytime soon.

Most improved MMJ Player
I tried Aphria several months ago and wasn't that impressed. At that time they did not have a concentrate option. Since then Aphria has put out a product similar to Trulieve's Truclear. They offer 3 varieties at present- Blue Dream (Sativa), Durban (Hybrid), and Pineapple Express (Indica). 900 mgs in a syringe for $75. As a patient at MMTC, I get 20% off so its $60 with my discount. Well this morning I received a text from Aphria stating that they were having a 40% off sale today from 2pm to 4:20pm. Nice. I got there at 1:45pm and the place was packed. To the credit of the staff they checked everyone in and got orders out as quickly as they could. Good hustle guys. There must have been about 50 people and I got my 2 syringes of concentrate in just over an hour. Not too bad.Total damage was $45 for each so $90 total. I picked up the Durban Concentrate 93.7% THC and the Pineapple Express 82.9% THC. Both taste great in a vape cart and are very strong in effect. Hey as long as I keep getting these huge discounts I will continue doing business with Aphria. Their concentrates are top qualitity and just as good as what's available at Trulieve. I also like Aphria's accelerated reward point system better than Trulieve's $1 a point. Aphria also has MCT free vape carts which Trulieve doesn't. I feel like Aphria has picked up their game and just might be The Most Improved MMJ Dispensary in Florida.

Pure Reserve Oil packaging ERROR
I dropped by to purchase a syringe of the Relief Pure Reserve Oil. This formulation is 9 parts THC and 1 part CBD. So I get to the car and open up the bag to make sure I received correct product. Whats odd is that the packaging says 9 parts CBD and 1 part THC. The syringe says Relief Pure Reserve Oil as does my receipt. I go back in and the staff member tells me it is 9 to 1 THC to CBD despite what it clearly states on the packaging. They look through inventory to see if they all of them are mislabeled and they all are. So did I get the correct product ? Who knows ? I used to buy the disposible pens from Surterra but they tasted badly and I had issues with the pen dying with contents unused. I stopped buying them several months ago. Now, Surterra can't label their products correctly. Curaleaf, Trulieve, and Aphria are much better run dispensaries with superior quality better priced products.

Review of Pure Reserve Oil
I have been buying my medical marijuana products from Surterra for about 7 months. I liked their Relief and Zen vape pens, but as several people have stated here on Weedmaps, I started to have problems with them. Usually the issue was the disposible vape pens dying before all the contents was used up. Initially Surterra was cool about this and would give me $10 credit. Eventually the credit became $5 and eventually they started to give me a bit of an attitute and zero credit. I heard over and over how they were going to work out the issues. They never did unfortunately. In the end I stopped buying anything from Surterra. Trulieve became a better option. The other day I received an email from Surterra announcing that they now offer a Pure Reserve Oil. Its about 900 mgs for $65 and has no MCT, I purchased the Relief and put the oil into my eDab Fantom cartridge to vape it. First impression is that the oil appears a little thinner than Truclear from Trulieve. As far as taste, it was very medicinal and I did not enjoy it very much. There was no terpene flavor like the Truclear. If you are consuming the Pure Reserve Oil orally then I guess flavor doesn't mean all that much. I like tasting the various terpenes. For now, I think I will stick with Trulieve as price and selection there can't be beat. Surterra really needs to pick up their game. Introducing a pure cannabis extract oil is a step in the right direct. Until they get it together and work out the vape pen problem I will not be doing any more business with Surterra.

March 31st 2018 UPDATED REVIEW
These are my thoughts on Surterra Wellness. I ordered from them for the first time last week. Surterra gave me $50 off on my purchase. I live about 90 miles from Tampa so I had my order delivered for a $10 charge. Unfortunately, they only deliver to The Villages area on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In my case, I ordered on a Friday and didn't get my order until 6 days later. When I placed my order, Surterra told me that the following Tuesday was already " booked up" and that I would have to wait until Thursday. Once Thursday finally rolled around, I was contacted by the delivery guy Eric, and received my order 9am at my door. Eric was very professional and courteous and explained how to use the pens. As far as the products from Surterra, I have only tried the vape. As a former long term hardcore MJ smoker, I have a high tolerance. No pun intended. Oral drops, capsules, tintures, and even the nasal sprays do almost nothing for me. It takes an insane amount of mgs to feel any relief. Edibles work ok but take too long to take effect and again require too many mgs of THC to be cost effective. After much trial and error for the last 3 months, I finally deceided to try vape. I have been vaping exclusively for the last month. I was getting my vape from Trulieve in The Villages. They offer 1000 mg vape carts of 67% THC in a MCT oil. The cost is $74 and they come in several different strains of indica, sativa, and hybrid. My issue was that I don't like putting MCT vapor into my lungs. Who knows what that does to your lungs long term. Also, at 67% or less THC, it often took a half dozen draws to feel any effect or relief. Surterra's vape pens perform well and taste great from the addition of cannabis terpenes. I like the fact that it contains no MCT or any other cutting agents. The pens contain 300 mg of 90% THC and terpenes. The pens run for $25. There were a few things about the Surterra vape pens that I wasn't crazy about. I don't like that fact that all the vape pens are 1 use disposables. That isn't too ecofriendly. Surterra will recycle your used pens. I just hope they are disposing of them properly. Another issue is formulations. Surterra offers a 9 to 1 THC to CBD and a 4 to 1 THC to CBD for its high THC vape pens. The rest offered are in the high CBD realm. Unfortunately, Surterra does not offer a vape pen without any CBD. My only other issue would be that I would like more info on the strain that the THC came from. Indica, Sativa, hybrid? Trulieve is excellent in providing this info. Surterra has argued that THC is THC. Once you remove the THC, then it doesn't matter if its from one strain or another. I disagree. I have tried several different strains in vape form from Trulieve and there is a slight difference in effect. My issue with Trulieve again is the use of MCT as a cutting agent. Overall, I was very happy with Surterra Wellness and I will order from them again. ***UPDATE 3 31 18 - Since I wrote this review a few things have changed. A month or two back I started to have an issue with their vape pens. As some have previously reported, some of the pen's batteries are dying out before the contents are gone. At first, Surterra was cool about it and knocked $10 off each unfinished pen. The next time they told me that they were changing suppliers and that new pens wouldn't have this issue. Ok great. So I get half a dozen new pens. One of them had the same battery issue. I showed it to one of the staff who went and talked to the manager. Surterra would be willing to only give me a $5 discount. Last time they gave me $10. About 2 weeks ago I call up and order my usual 6 to 8 pens. When I receive the order the delivery guy states that the vape pens are a new design. Ok. I try one of the new vape pens after the guy leaves. Way too strong on the draw after a one second delay for the battery to kick on. Whatsmore I used up the contents in 2 days as opposed to 3 to 4 days. Surterra's new pens suck up too much oil to deliver too hard of a hit. To top it off 2 of the pens died before all the contents were exhausted. Same issue as the old pens. I am seriously considering finding another source for my medicine.

More options and better prices than Knox
I got my MMJ card about a few weeks ago so I stopped by Trulieve in The Villages to pick up some products.
Trulieve has vape, oral syringes, extracts, and capsules to choose from. I received 15% off my initial purchase AND a $75 CREDIT on the order if I bought more than $150 worth of medicine. Great deal. My order came out to about $100 after all the new customer discounts. My original total was $206.
Trulieve offers capsules in 10mg and 50mg strength in Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid. I picked up 25 of the 50mg capsules for $116. They also had a 85% THC oral syringe containing 1275mg for $90. They also had vape but Im not interested in that crap. Too many chemicals in the vape like PG or VG which haven't been studied long term for their detrimental effects on the human body.
I went to KNOX Medical in Gainesville the next week to check out what they had. At Knox, they only offer 2 choices- vape or liquid drops. 300mg for $45 and 600mg for $90. You can get 1275mg of extract oil at Trulieve for $90 or 1250mg in capsules for $116. Don't think I'll be buying from Knox again ...
JUST A HEADS UP- Trulieve sells Rick Simpson oil capsules which are 25mg CBD and 25mg THC. HOWEVER, when they reported it to the State of Florida, they entered that I received a 100% THC product. I tried to contact Trulieve to fix this because misclassifying this as ALL THC messes up the recordkeeping. As you know, MMJ patients are limited in the amount of THC you can use daily. In my case, 100mg of THC AND 100mg of CBD. I am getting nowhere with customer service at Trulieve.
SO...if you need both CBD and THC..make sure you buy one bottle of CBD capsules and one bottle of THC capsules. OTHERWISE, if you buy the 1 to 1 RSO capsules, Trulieve will erronously report your THC allowance incorrectly. Word to the wise...I'm still trying to get this fixed and its been about 10 days.
I lived in Colorado for a year and Florida has a long way to go to match the variety of products available out west. Florida also needs to create more competition in the industry by allowing more dispensaries. I paid about a third as much out in Colorado for these products as I did at Trulieve here in Florida. CMON John Morgan !!!!
Trulieve - Lady Lake (The Villages)
The Villages, FloridaThank you for your detailed review, we do appreciate all feedback. I would encourage that you do visit our website, as we use do not use PG or VG in our vapor products, but rather an alternative called MCT oil (Multi-Chain Triglycerides) that are safely vaporized at lower temperatures. When it comes to medical cannabis products the state has two classifications; High THC (Medical Cannabis) and Low-THC (High CBD.) These are listed as two separate recommendations and their is no 'maximum' amount that a patient is 'allowed' to take. So when you purchase RSO (High THC product) it is subtracted from your THC recommendation, as it is still a psychoactive medication while CBD is not. This places our companies RSO in one of the two categories, that category being High THC, thus removing a set amount from your allowable amount of High THC products. We do provide all products that are currently legal under Florida state law, when legislation approves different forms of products we will certainly be the first to provide them to our valued patients. We do not see the prices of our distillate based products changing anytime, as THC distillate (what all of our products are made out of) run a shelf price of $50-$60 per gram in all legal states. Our TruClear concentrate and other distillate based products fall under that price range. Again, we do appreciate any and all feedback, but if you are looking for information on our products please do contact the call center at 844-878-5438.
