We would like to take this opportunity to publicly explain what happened in this exact scenario. www.facebook.com/royce.ouellette = leroy420 Royce Ouellette was a patient who had a hard time affording his cannabis doctor visits and medication. When we discovered this, like we do with many patients in need, we offered to help him not only pay for his Doctor, but also to help him find a garden to join with other local patients that needed help and had no resources to grow their own. We did not endeavor to make a profit off of Royce’s pain and it hurts us to hear he feels this way. http://goo.gl/7MzWcT allows patients to fill out a form explaining why they need help and request assistance from our Collectives. We donate tens of thousands of dollars of free medicine to patients who need it every month and that doesn’t include patients who we’ve helped pay for their doctor visit. For a long time we provided Royce with a monthly allotment of medication and sometimes more than his agreed upon amount. One of our bud tenders felt sorry for him and had even loaned him cash for gas as a personal loan that he needed that wasn’t covered by his local garden. Sadly, what happened is he and his dad volunteered at our event on July 5th; to get some free gifts, memorabilia, food, and entry into the event. We had a number of patients help out and we appreciated everyones help, the event NEVER could have gone smoothly without them. However it was overheard by multiple volunteers that Royce and his Dad were hiding in their tent laughing all day and talking about how they got in for free; how they got a bunch freebies but didn’t have to work because they had just hidden out in their tent; instead of helping like promised. Well, when our other volunteers overheard this they were mad! A few of them made sure to identify Royce and his dad to other garden patients and members as well as staff. When this information reached members in the garden and the consultants of Northwest Collectives a decision was made by garden members and management, to no longer allow Royce to be one of the patients in his local garden. We have never said he isn’t allowed to come back to Northwest Collective and donate for his medicine here, and even though we paid for his Doctor’s visit, we have refrained from contacting his Doctor to inform them of his dishonesty and the potential for him to misuse his authorization as he was obviously viewing it as a ticket to free stuff and the good life, instead of as the medicine that it truly is for many patients who truly need it. Many patients in need have been waiting for a spot to open up in a local garden. The decision has been made that the attitude Royce and his Dad displayed is not that of someone who is actually in need of help but more that of someone looking for a free handout. We want this review to stay up to show how dishonesty and disloyalty are dealt with at Northwest Collective
