Y2K
First: The legendary breeders at Alien Labs created the Y2K hybrid cannabis strain name first. They knew they wanted something not just reminiscent, but on the nose to the infamous grape strains that came out of San Francisco in and around the year 2000. At the time, California's Prop 215 was the loosest medical marijuana law in the United States, and Northern California was the mecca of kind, kinder, and kindest buds. The purples were monumentally good, and for Y2K, Alien Labs found the most authentic S1 Purple Urkle they could find, and crossed it with their own out-of-this-world strain, Planet Dosi.
Second: Vancouver Island Seed Company bred a pure indica strain that claims to have hybrid qualities.
Y2K nugs are solid, long, and chonky. Predominantly the perfect purple, bright green calyxes find their way into the light, too. Twirling orange hairs and a thick layer of trichomes are also hallmarks of the Y2K strain. The folks at Alien Labs and civilian fans of Y2K say it's a mind-melter with an all-over body high that most often leads to couchlock.
