Golden Goat is a sativa-dominant hybrid born from one of those happy accidents growers usually try very hard to prevent. The story traces back to Mr. Dank in Topeka, Kansas, where a male Hawaiian × Romulan unexpectedly pollinated an Island Sweet Skunk female. The standout plant from the resulting seeds became Golden Goat.

The name has its own piece of Midwest weirdness. Golden Goat recycling machines were once a familiar sight around the region, and the strain was reportedly named after the syrupy smell of discarded soda baking around those machines in the summer heat. It fits. Golden Goat brings a loud mix of tropical fruit, sweet citrus, sour herbs, earth, and spice, with enough skunky funk underneath to keep all that fruit from getting too polite.

The strain's devotees describe an energetic head change that shows up quickly, bringing euphoria, creativity, and an upbeat social streak along for the ride. There's some relaxation underneath, but Golden Goat built its reputation around keeping the mind moving rather than slowing the whole operation down.

The indoor flowering time for Golden Goat takes about 56-70 days after the 12/12 light cycle switch, while outdoor cultivators can anticipate a harvest by late October. The clone-only cut of Golden Goat should be obtained through a reputable cultivator, as packaged seeds are currently unavailable.
