Frosty Gelato

aka Frosted Gelato

Frosted Gelato's got four different breeders throwing their hat in the ring, all slapping the same name on genetically different plants. Know your source before you buy in.

Origin 1: Bred by Jungle Boys. A cross of Gelato #45 and Mike Larry, and it's the version most people mean when they say Frosted Gelato. Crack the jar and get hit with spicy diesel and earthy black pepper up front, backed by a sweet, tangy citrus-and-fruit flavor that lingers long after the smoke clears.

Origin 2: Bred by Grower's Choice, out of California. A cross of Gelato with Brain Damage — order flips depending on who you ask, but the parents stay the same — marketed as Frosty Gelato. It's a frost bomb through and through: a thick white trichome coat, sweet berry flavor, and an energy that keeps you moving.

Origin 3: Breeder unconfirmed. A cross of Gelato with Ruby Frost. Even the retailers selling this one flag that it's not the same as the like-named Frosty Gelato — so if the sellers are watching their backs on this, you should too. Expect sour citrusy lemon riding shotgun with spicy diesel and earthy pepper.

Origin 4: Bred by BC Bud Supply. A cross of Gelato with Frosted Cherry Cookies — a fourth completely separate lineage — sweet, creamy berry and citrus notes wrapped around a smooth, balanced high.

No matter which Frosted Gelato lands in your hands, expect buds absolutely blanketed in white, crystalline trichomes — the name doesn't lie. Deep green fades into purple, with bright orange pistils cutting through the frost. Consumers frequently describe an uplifting, euphoric head rush that eases into full-body relaxation without dragging you down — a solid pick for social hangs or creative sessions where you still want to function.

Frosted Gelato is an easy-to-moderate strain that stays around 4–5 feet indoors – making it a good fit for growers with limited vertical space or moderate experience. Outdoors, it stretches to 5–7 feet with a bushy lateral structure and thrives in warm, Mediterranean-style climates where temperatures sit between 70–85°F and humidity stays around 40–50% during flowering. The dense bud structure with heavy trichome coverage means you'll want to keep airflow consistent to avoid moisture trapping in the colas, though its naturally high mold resistance gives you some breathing room. This strain doesn't demand much fuss from less experienced cultivators, and growers often report yields of 500–750 g/m² indoors (or up to 800 g/plant outdoors) when conditions stay warm and humidity is kept in check across an 8–10 week flowering window.
