Cherry Garcia is a balanced hybrid strain with more than one origin. Ethos Genetics, who spells their version as Cherry-Gar-See-Ya, crossed Black Cherry Soda, Cherry Maduro, and Mandarin Sunset to create a super cherry strain with well-rounded effects. Arkansas-based Natural State Medicinals' version crosses Animal Cookies and 3X Crazy.

The strain takes its name and flavor cues from the popular ice cream flavor, named after the Grateful Dead vocalist and guitarist, Jerry Garcia. As you'd expect, this means a sweet and funky nose with hints of cherry, nuttiness, creamy vanilla, and diesel. Cherry Garcia looks like a treat thanks to its thick frosting of crystal trichomes. The icy layer coats elongated olive green nugs with thin orangish-red hairs.
