Breeder Compound Genetics is credited with creating the hybrid strain Candy Pave, but reports on the strain's origins vary. Three different strain versions are floating around the legal market.

Candy Pave by Compound Genetics

The first and more common lineage of Candy Pave is Eye Candy x Pave, which means infamous strains like OG Kush, Gelato, and Afghani are in Candy Pave's family tree. This strain is dark yet vibrantly colored, with dark purple undertones, dark green buds, and hues of red and orange in the hairs. Another version of Candy Pave crosses Eye Candy with The Menthol. The Menthol is a parent strain of Eye Candy, and this strain leans into its double-strain heritage with a strong scent of menthol balanced with citrus, earth, gas, and herbal notes from vibrantly colored flowers with dark hues. There is a third version of Candy Pave accredited to Compound Genetics, but things get a little confusing here. Compound Genetics is responsible for creating the Pave strain line, a cross between Paris OG and The Menthol — but some dispensaries sell a Candy Pave strain with the exact same lineage. Technically, Candy Pave and Pave are two different strains, and it's likely that these dispensaries are actually selling Pave, not Candy Pave. Always read your labels!
