Black Mamba has a forked family tree, with different breeders putting their own bite behind the name.
Origin 1: Exotic Genetix crossed Mint Chocolate Chip with The Cube, releasing a balanced hybrid advertised at 22–26% THC. The breeder describes chocolate and mint aromas, while 710 Labs’ seed-hunted Black Mamba #6 selection takes a creamier turn: berries over sweet cereal milk. Same cross, different spoonful. That numbered cut belongs to this family, not automatically to the grape-heavy Black Mamba found elsewhere.
Origin 2: A widely circulated indica-dominant version is commonly attributed to Black Domina × Granddaddy Purple, although its original breeder remains unconfirmed. Dark grape and berry sweetness meet damp earth, woody spice, and occasional skunky notes. General descriptions often place THC around 18–25%, but those figures are not a verified average for one traceable breeder line.
Origin 3: SnowHigh Seeds created a sativa-dominant Black Mamba from Vietnam Black × Black Congolese. This landrace-derived pairing takes the name well beyond purple dessert flower. The breeder emphasizes an intense, head-focused experience; reliable THC figures and a detailed flavor profile remain unpublished.
Feedback attached to Black Mamba commonly favors happiness, body relaxation, and sleepiness, fitting the reputation of its heavier hybrid versions. Those reports cannot cleanly separate every cut, however, and SnowHigh’s cerebral breeding direction makes a blanket “bedtime strain” label misleading. The name has teeth, but the pedigree tells you what kind of session is coiled inside.
Exotic Genetix’s Black Mamba was released as regular seeds, with a listed flowering window of 56–63 days and heavy yield potential. The breeder recommends developing a bush with multiple tops to improve production and describes notably dark coloration. Its figures do not establish a dependable yield in grams per square meter.
SnowHigh’s version requires a very different calendar. The breeder lists exceptionally tall plants, large yields, and approximately 13–14 weeks of flowering. Released as an early-generation cross for further selection, it calls for room to stretch and patience through a substantially longer bloom.
For the Black Domina × Granddaddy Purple version, grow schedules depend on the actual seed line or clone. An eight-week finish attached to the Exotic release should not become a universal instruction for every Black Mamba.
