5G has three breeders, three networks, and no shared signal between them.

Origin 1: Soma’s Sacred Seeds crosses Purple Caper Seeds’ 4G with Lavender OG. The 4G parent brings Gelato #45, GG4, and GSC into the family. Soma added Lavender OG and another G to the name. Glue funk meets a softer lavender accent and a sweet-and-sour Afghani flavor, with tightly stacked flowers supplying the visual weight. Floral on top, sticky business underneath.

Origin 2: Twenty20 Mendocino’s 5G pairs GMO with The Whip! The breeding goal was specific: preserve GMO’s savory gas while shortening its long flowering time and reining in its stretch. Earth and overripe fruit join the funk, but GMO still has the loudest voice. Flowers can develop deep purple coloring as they ripen. This is the version for people who open a jar, make a concerned face, and immediately ask for another sniff.

Origin 3: 3rd Coast Genetics released 5G as WiFi 43 × Pure Michigan, with seed listings specifying the Pure Michigan #7 selection. Its reported profile favors earthy, nutty sweetness. That gives the name a third actual recipe, rather than another interpretation of Soma’s or Twenty20’s work.

Community reviews under the 5G name describe happy relaxation, with one reviewer mentioning focus and another sleepiness. Those accounts don’t identify the breeder, so they can’t settle how all three versions land. Soma separately describes its own release as euphoric and relaxed. There’s a pleasant session in those reports, but “5G” alone won’t tell you whether you’re keeping the conversation going or letting the next episode watch you. Check who’s providing the service.

Soma: Released as feminized seed for indoor and outdoor cultivation, with a listed flowering window of 8–10 weeks. The breeder describes large plants, tightly stacked colas, and moderate-to-heavy production. Its “50–60 grams minimum” figure lacks enough growing context to serve as a useful yield target.

Twenty20 Mendocino: Released as regular seed, with 8–9 weeks of indoor flowering, reduced stretch compared with GMO, and above-average yield potential. The breeder now lists it as a legacy release no longer for sale. Its original notes say outdoor performance had not been specifically tested in 2020, so the parent’s outdoor reputation isn’t a proven result for this cross.

3rd Coast Genetics: Listed in packs of 10-plus regular seeds. A dependable flowering window, mature height, measured yield, and outdoor finishing date weren’t established in the material checked.

The breeder name matters before the first seed gets wet. Soma’s feminized pack and the two regular releases are different projects with different expectations.
