Small Flower 

Popcorn weed (also known as popcorn nugs) is small, dense, and compact. It is typically smaller than the larger and more visually appealing top-shelf nugs found on marijuana plants. Popcorn weed gets its name due to its size and shape, resembling a popped popcorn kernel. Popcorn weed can be indica, sativa, or hybrid and contains the same properties, like cannabinoids, trichomes, colas, and terpenes, as regular-sized nugs. Like regular-sized nugs, popcorn weed can be used to make cannabis concentrates, like rosin and wax, and in cannabis products, like edibles, tinctures, and pre-rolls.

Popcorn weed is the same thing as regular weed, just smaller. It shares the same properties and characteristics as the larger nugs of the same plant and, like regular weed, comes in many different strains. While popcorn weed can sometimes be slightly less potent than regular weed (or bigger buds), it typically offers the same effects and potency as the larger nugs of the same marijuana plant. That said, some consider larger nugs to have more visual appeal and be more potent, and thus consider it to be better than popcorn weed. 

Popcorn weed typically mirrors the potency and effects of the larger nugs of the same cannabis plant, but sometimes, they are considered slightly less potent due to their smaller size. Ultimately, what determines if flower is considered quality cannabis (or A-grade bud) depends on the weed’s growing conditions, properties, strain parents, and how much the growers care for the plant.

Popcorn weed can form for various reasons. Overwatering, overcrowding, stress, pests, genetics, and heat can cause these smaller cannabis buds to develop. Additionally, popcorn weed forms under the plant's canopy, which gets less light than the nugs on top, resulting in a miniature version of the larger flower.

“Popcorn weed” and “smalls” are the same thing. Both names refer to the whole marijuana flower that’s smaller than regular flower.
