Moisture Content

moisCHər kənˈtent | Noun

The amount of water content contained in a given cannabis sample. Most jurisdictions regulate the amount of moisture that is allowed in a packaged cannabis sample. The ideal moisture content will keep fully cured cannabis buds from drying out and burning up too fast, but simultaneously dry enough to prevent mold and to still provide an enjoyable smoke.

The ideal moisture content for completely cured cannabis is between eight percent (8%) and 10%.

Curing is done to reduce the moisture content of the plant.
